the guy on that site has some good thoughts on why there is an issue.have you been over there and read it yet.?:lol:PeterMJ's Corvette C7 Stingray and Z06 Exposed

That is text book there...

He does point out the fact that the C7 has poor airflow and traps hot air under the hood. He also talks about the heat exchanger position in front of the radiator. He also blast GM for using base car parts in a Z06.

This is ALL happening to the Camaro now. Even worse due being based on a 4 cylinder platform.

Second step would involve a larger engine radiator surface area along with a larger air intake (active shutter system would be the way to go).
This guy speaks my language... only he is more focused on the Corvette.

His outline is somewhat similar to my endeavors here. The Camaro set up should cause great alarm.

There are only 11 events scheduled in October. However, two of the races are VLN. Typically, a VLN event requires a great deal of track prep. At that time, nobody is permitted to use the track.

If they come into the country, it will be via Bremerhaven. We will know they are there before they get to the Jag garage.

And, I support the "No baiting" rule. Just leave that up to thePill... AKA, the Master... baiter...

Funny thing is, I am a member at corvette forum. When they announced that the Z06 was using a 1.7L roots, I said it was too small and would create too much heat. I was told that GM knew much more than me. Maybe they do, but I was right on this one.

As you say, time's a tickin' if they want to get any track time in before the winter sets in (ironically, we've had glorious weather here in the UK for the last couple of weeks!)

Besides, if GT500/Halo-car is an '18MY, perhaps they don't need to be there this year/early next. We might not even spot mules until a year or so before release. I do hope we see something soon though.........it'll just prove that something is coming :)

I guess that just goes to show how little we know about forthcoming product :(

Well, in all honesty, the Auto 1SS w/MRC poses the biggest threat, the manual 1SS is a close 2nd. It could benefit them greatly to do battle at the GT level first. I have been campaigning for the Mustang GTR to return. Both 1SS's are $4000-$6000 over a base GT. When I started this endeavor, most people didn't know about the MGTR nor was the GT350 confirmed, let alone the R (I knew better though). Now that the GT350R is confirmed, my crazy idea of a MGTR seems feasible now. I think I specifically said the R package on the up coming GT350 can be adopted at the GT level. It would be the GT's first 1LE type package.

But, the LT4 is on its way AND, we can assume a 1LE is too... or at least some help for the SS. Maybe the MGTR is a better card to play first...

Do you not think the rumoured Mach 1 would fill that role? I see that as being a GT Plus.......so maybe a little more power, but with MagneRide etc........and then heavy on the traditional Mach 1 styling.

Honestly, I think they will keep the V8 line naming scheme streamlined. If you look at the top models in the genre, they all follow a naming scheme. The BMW M's, the Porsches 9's... every top model has a streamlined theme. I think the days of the Retro recall is over. The "Cobra" in general, Boss and Mach are probably anniversary bound, if at all. The GT, GT350 and GT500 are perfect and a great looking lineup.

GT: $33,200
GTPP: $35,700
GTR: $38,600
GT350: $49,995
GT350TP: $56,500
GT350R: $63,400
GT500: $59,995
GT500 (TP or PP): $67,500
GT500KR: $73,000

The "R" or "KR" will become the "Z07 Carbon" type packages. The HALO of the HALO so to speak. The GT350R will have two competitive sub-model in the RC and RS as could the GT if they were so inclined. Of course there is the GT/CS but that has nothing to do with competition, it's a GT appearance package.

The Mustang has THE most streamlined lineup AND, they are also rich in Mustang heritage. I say keep it clean and reserve those Special Models for the 55th, 65th Anniversary. The 60, 70 Anniversary cars should remain pure Birthday Editions.

As someone mentioned before, an R Package on a GT is a cheaper route than an all new model. Certifications and such would need re-accomplished. An MGTR is an easier route AND, it would benefit the GT more later on.

Did you notice the first Drag Strip GT was called the "King Cobra". It is simply a placeholder name for the upcoming GT500KR (King of the Road). I believe that the new GT500 will take the 2008-2014 Cobra Jets place in the NHRA/IHRA.

The "King of the Road" is something they simply will not pass up in marketing. Plus, it still maintains the "R" somewhat but sets the package apart from the GT and GT350R's.
