An as delivered Demon is a mid 10 second car...A GT500 could very well run similar times, It's going to come down to HP and weight.

True. I think the 2020 GT500 will run 10.5 to 10.8 in the 1/4 mile stock. which is still very very fast.Time will tell
A GT500 will beat a Dodge Demon on the street, and be very close on the drag strip if the Demon is running on 808hp. However the Demon can run high 9s with the 840hp. THE DEMON WILL NOT RUN 9.65An as delivered Demon is a mid 10 second car...A GT500 could very well run similar times, It's going to come down to HP and weight.
Yeah, he might do a little "marketing speak", but that's cool, if you're smarter than a kitchen appliance, you can easily parse out the facts from the hyperbole. He seems enthusiastic, we (well some of you lucky f**ckers ) are getting this new GT500 that I'm sure is going to be incredible, and he had a hand in it.Jim is a good friend. He is a very intelligent individual and as passionate as anyone about the cars. He believes in what he says, unlike a used car salesman. He is the marketing manager and as you eluded to, he has a job to do. We are lucky to have guys like Jim still at Ford. Jim spend a vast majority of time, on track, in the GT350 and he is a good driver as well. He is an ally in our world.
At 3:49, Jim states "the transmission weighs about the same".New little vid with more of the car driving around in parking lot. It does look so good moving out in the wild :^)
I think so.At around the 6:10 mark, does Jim state that the GT500 is nearly 4 seconds faster than a GT350R around an unnamed 2.5 mile track???
The carbon fiber track pack car will be under 4,000 pounds. At 3:49, Jim states "the transmission weighs about the same".
I think the 500 is going to weigh in less than wht people were saying. Yes, the blower, bigger brakes, extra coolers, etc will add to the weight. I'd like to think that ford has figured out ways to remove some of the weight before adding the items mentioned above.
It will be interesting to see.
and how do you know? The carbon fiber track pack car will be under 4,000 pounds.
How many 2.5 mile tracks has ford put the 350 on? we have time to dig deeper on thisAt around the 6:10 mark, does Jim state that the GT500 is nearly 4 seconds faster than a GT350R around an unnamed 2.5 mile track???
It really doesn't matter. How many 2.5 mile tracks has ford put the 350 on? we have time to dig deeper on this
Interestingly enough, the GT350R was less than a second slower than the ZL1 at Willow Springs (popular 2.5 mile track). Not sure how much quicker a ZL1 1LE is compared to the ZL1.How many 2.5 mile tracks has ford put the 350 on? we have time to dig deeper on this
