GT500 SE Hood?

Happy Father’s Day to all the fellow fathers out there! I can’t seem to find the GT500 SE style hood for sale anywhere, I found a Chinese company doing a knockoff for the 2017’s, anyone know where I could find one? (Other than buying an SE)

Happy Fathers Day man!! From one dad to another!

There are a ton of companies out there. I was warned not to get Fibreglass due to fitment issues etc. Not sure of the validity of that but passing that along! If you can; get an Aluminum one.

The only company I wouldn't recommend is Vicrez. While they make one of the only aluminum hoods (I think there are like 3 in total, the rest are fibreglass) their warranty/claims resolution process is a nightmare.

Shelby contracts with Anderson Composite for the GT500 SE hood. It is all Carbon Fiber.

It may be worth checking out the trufiber hoods if you haven’t already. They have a carbon fiber but no pics available for it yet. The link will take you to one on a 350 so you can see it.Hope this helps.

So, Cervini makes the GT500 hood for the Mach 1 and 18+GT's. I have one for my Mach 1. This is a fiberglass hood and heavier than stock.

I never thought much of the weight on stuff...until I swapped the hood for a GT350 style on my '17.
'Light weight steel'...yeah...no it wasn't.
Carbon fiber or aluminum!

Sent an email over to Anderson Composites to see what the deal is.

Anderson confirmed it is a Shelby American only part, contacted Shelby, no plans for at least 3/yrs (said most likely longer but that’s their shortest contractual obligation currently) to release separately, only way to get one is to order the special edition or if the original hood from one of the special edition models gets damaged.

Not on the car yet. I ordered it before the car. After Steeda completes the car, once it arrives to their shop, I will send pictures of the finished car.

I was just coming here to speak to the unavailability of this hood because it's a Shelby specific hood that they use on the Signature Edition and the King of the road (KR). From all my conversations with Shelby during my build, they will not be sold at any point, even after 3 years.

That and they only fit the 2020-2023 GT500

It may be possible to add louvers to a stock hood, but they would have to be between the structural support braces. The SE hood is actually all one piece dry carbon which accepts the OEM hood vent.
