Greets all,

Now that my car is awaiting shipment, I figured i would ask some questions to whoever can answer them either from experience, owner a prior 15-17 that upgraded to the 500 like me etc. So here goes:

1) How does one go about tracking the car when during shipment/rail to thr dealership? I thought of using ford pass, but it seems from the tutorial you have to accept it on the sync display for it to work, so that is useless someone here works at ford (hint hint) and works with me to hit accept on the screen :) I can track the shipper to me once the car gets to the dealership and he can hit accept.

2) Can anyone confirm that the headlights on the 2020 are the same model or model # as the 15-17? I plan to modify the lights and wanted to see if the led boards are the same design or of they were changed.

3) Anyone who had a 15-17 stang compare the seat AC/Heat as to being better airflow or the same as before and there were many flow issues with the 15-17 models.

4) Can anyone compare the 15-17 sound system to the 2020 B&O sound system? Better, worse, same, cant tell the difference?

5) I was thinking of adding fog lights, has anyone thought of doing this?

6)Since mine is going to be in a Iowa Dealership, looking for a shipper that is reasonable (this can be PM-ed if need be).

7) CFTP or base when the windows are down and alarm set does the alarm go off if you stick your hand in the car? My '16 CS did this and yet I am getting mixed answers about this, where some are saying yes it does this and others are saying no, because I asked why the security package was only available with the CFTP and not the base, no one could answer that and why the wheel locks cost $18,000.

Thanks in advance.

Greets all,

, no one could answer that and why the wheel locks cost $18,000.

About those wheel locks, you guys with CFTP, are the wheel locks made by McGard?
My Ford/Lincoln cars in the past used McGard locks, so I ordered a set for the 500.
When I realized the torque spec was 150 lb/ft, I emailed McGard, asking if the locks
were rated for that much. I had a vision of the funky lock pattern shearing off at 149 lb/ft
leaving no way to take the broken lock off.
2 emails later they have not responded.

For #1: If you use the automated voice system from the rail line, it tells you where the rail car is and the status.
Trace rail cars with Touch Trace: dial 1-877-ShipCSX (1-877-744-7279), options 2-1-3
After you type the "3", it will jump you to another system. Say "Location" and have your rail car number ready.
#2: Headlights are the same as 15-17. But don’t know about the innards.

CJ Pony Parts has a youtube video showing fog light install on a GT350. I would imagine it would be similar to that.

So where do i get the rail car # from? The ShipCSX #?

And I know they are the same, but I am trying to see if the model # is the same because of the led boards if they are the same then I'm golden.

Have to look at that, thanks.

I believe only your salesman will have this information. I think Noah from Ford Performance can see it, just not sure if he can give you the info.

That's what I remember as well. Its normally 4 letters and 6 numbers. Mine was ETTX710450. Try it and see where my old rail car is now.

Thats what I havent figured out yet as I dont have the car, I saw the video from CJ Pony parts but i dont know if I am sold with the fogs being part of the signal housing. I was thinking of using lights more like the '15-'17 fog ligjhts that were in the corners because I dont think the '18+ fog lights are bright enough, but the key question is the front and if all the areas are needed for the cooling.

The lower center opening is used completely by the intercooler and brake ducts. The upper opening is for radiator in the center and on driver side is the engine air intake. Only the passenger side has a small triangle area that has a blocking plate. This is a purpose built race car, made to handle 760 hp (and the heat produced) all day long.

Once you see Shipped Rail, call the dealer and have him check the Vehicle Visibly Report and that will tell him the carrier (Canadian National) and the railcar number.
Then let the tracking begin.

If your car goes Convoy, you are out of luck.

<laughing out loud on this one>

(IF they use a covered trailer, that is.)
KB

You do know they dont, they use small strips of plastic thinking its an invisible shield engulfing the car in a hard shell. I rather rail and it be protected then rock chip dents thank you very much.
