AMC: You are of course, absolutely correct There is/was a VERY long thread about FordPass and eliminating the modem's functionality in the 2020 section, to prevent the data from being sent.

There were a number of methods suggested to break the data chain with Mother Ford. I took the easiest route and pulled the fuse at position 8-9 which apparently only has one load on that circuit, the modem.

I am a fan of technology the vast majority of the time but in this case, I found that what was being sent was simply too intrusive. Others don't mind and that's cool, too. My buddy, the ASM at my store, did NOT like it, however. :-)

From Pages 230-231 in the owner's manual...

By removing this fuse, does it effect anything else on the car ?

No. The embedded modem of the telematics system is the only thing on this circuit.
So the only thing that you lose is the FordPass system. Great

I can’t get this thing to work either. I’ll just stick to starting my car remotely with the fob. And after reading the rest of the thread FordPass is gone. I can check my mileage or my oil life anytime I get in the car which is every day.

Just so I’m clear, if I just get rid of the FordPass app no information is sent?

No. The modem is sending data whether you are using FordPass or not, as often as every 125 seconds packets of data are sent through the modem. You must disable the modem for no information to be sent. See the thread linked above for more details.

What about putting a switch on that fuse, power it when I kill it to be able to start it from FordPass, then kill the power to it while driving? Spitballing here…

Make sure you don't disable it before the 6 months is up or you will lose the 42,000 FordPass points you got for buying the car. I don't know how Ford would deal with you if you used all the points before you shutdown the modem.

Earn FordPass Rewards Points on every vehicle purchase or lease. Receive 42,000 Points for gas engines, 75,000 Points for diesel engines** and Mustang Mach-E owners will receive 22,000 Points plus 250 kWh of complimentary charging with Electrify America for use at fast charging stations. Use these Points as you see fit toward maintenance, future service, accessories and more. The choice is yours.

**Gas and diesel: Modem must be activated within 60 days of purchase through the FordPass App on a smartphone and remain active for at least 6 months after activation. Buyers of non-modem-equipped vehicles will also receive Points after enrollment. Visit a participating dealer for details

Modem and Blue Oval™ Charge Network access must be activated. Complimentary charging expires 2 years from Warranty Start Date. Offer excludes idle fees associated with charging. Must be enrolled in FordPass Rewards. See dealer for important details.

I can't seem to get the shortcuts added for my F150 without them giving me the mustang information..... There must be a way to have more than one vehicle work?
Jaime, I PM'd you how to add shortcuts for each of your vehicles. It is very easy. I have three separate vehicles I can have Siri control/get status on with no issues.

The reason I use Siri to start the car, unlock or lock the car, check tire pressure, distance to empty, oil life, check location, odometer reading, etc., etc., is because 1. I don't have to grab my phone, open the Ford Pass app and hold down buttons and 2. because it is much faster than using the Ford App (half the time).
