So what some of you are saying, as an example is.
you are in a position to buy a 1965 Mustang GT350
and you will not buy it because it only has an AM radio. REALLY?
LMFAO
At Barrett-Jackson yesterday, they sold a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am for $187,000 - equipped with an 8 track am/fm radio.

thats my point, no one gives a rats ass about the stereo in
one of these cars, even less 30-50years from now.

Edit: the question was pointed at those who think the stereo
is the main feature here? Which surprisingly more than one would think.
Me I could care less of the quality of it, it is better than I expected
based on early reviews of the car.

I think we are in agreement, I think thats the point, the radio doest matter much

In 30-50 years, you have two GT350s at auction. One a track pack car with manual recaros, manual radio/hvac, and all the other goodies. The other a tech pack car. At this point the difference in radios is zilch

Which goes for more assuming equal miles/condition?

7.9 miles too. To me that's a waste of a car. Never driven just started. Boring. He had more fun driving his tractors.

Yeah I don't think anyone is saying that.

In the case of the current R I just think that the stripper model is a pretty cool option considering almost no other cars offer this and it suits the "intended" purpose of the car. I have nothing against people who will DD them and want a radio or need the AC though.

As to which option will be worth more down the road I still think that's debatable considering the rarity (at this point at least). And honestly it doesn't really factor in my decision.

Which goes for more assuming equal miles/condition?
Personally I think the rarest of the two, but then again, they'll all be so rare to begin with...

As an example it would be interesting to see the price difference between the 997 RS 4.0 with and without radio\ac delete...probably a bit hard to find though haha

I think everyone is a little right and only time will tell. Options generally bring the bigger dollars because in the older cars it was usually rarer. With the R we're seeing the non-optioned car the rarity. You're correct the stereo/nav will be outdated but that's the point once it's a classic. Factory 8 track, AM radio, CB all helps a car even though it's just for show. In the end if only 10% of the R's are base models I would think they would have the same value or more in 30 years compared to a fully optioned one.

odds are I will be dead in 30 years or drooling.
so won't matter either way :)
when I am dead someone else can fight over what my car is worth LOL.

But I hope I am still beating the back roads in it, in 30 years, now that would be cool :)

Factory air means a lot.

I honestly think they should have separated the package like Porsche does. I may have gone with AC if that was the case. Not a big deal though and it may have added extra costs...

I mean as far as some classics go, factory air means a lot as far as desirability.

Very true in regards to the old cars. I had factory AC in my 69 Camaro. A definite plus.

At one time I was looking into a 2011-12 Boxster Spyder and by far the least expensive were the stripped down non-AC models. Basically no AC turns off a lot of buyers especially in the hot southern states.

In 20-25 years we probably won't even be driving. The car will drive for us and we just tell it where to take us. That will be a day I don't want to come. No fun in that. Besides I'll be 64-69 years old. Still young lol.
Reminds me of...

He says it used to be a farm, before the Motor Law..."
