I really hope that they release a GT350 and a GT350R. I have no interest in a Z28 simply because I wont allow myself to afford a dedicated track car at this price point. As a DD a Z28 is almost useless. I would love to have 90% of the performance of the Z28 that can be DD while have a GT350R that can top the Z28 for those that will track it.

Change the tires out on the Z28 and order the radio and you got a DD;) Not that I am voting for you to buy one. I am more interested in a car that costs less and isn't a fat porker with a cartoon looking non retro pieced together car.

Something that resembles Elanor my dream car in GT350 form NA with near 500hp would be what I would ask for and hopefully for around 55k. (also, needs to have a special silver paint scheme to make it pop). :ford::ford:

I believe that Pericak himself has said publicly that the LS was the target. I'm not 100% sure on that, and I'm not going to go searching for it either.

Damn, then those getting an EB are getting one hell of a chassis... to toss around.

On this point, I totally agree. If I weren't used to and love the Coyote, I'd likely have gone for an EB myself.

That is from 10 months ago... and hopeful. We have had much better intelligence since then, that suggest "on par" with Boss 302.
And on what 'intel' are you basing your conclusion??

There was nothing 'hopeful' sounding about his statement. They had already done track testing which was the basis for making it. Are you suggesting that the car somehow has gotten slower since then?

I agree with you but I feel by the time you add tires, radio, air conditioning etc, etc you really dont have a z28 anymore. You have a hopped up SS....The vast majority of the benefit is out the window when you start adding weight and get rid of the grippy stuff. I guess you could say the same thing about a GT350 (non R model) if it takes the same path as the Z28....

The GT350 will come in 3 different flavors.. so I am sure it will be tiered appropriately..!

I keep hearing, even to this day, that the GT PP consistently beats the Boss LS around the track.

This is from July 18th and Ford appears to be holding the line on those statements...

With skilled equal drivers a S550 GTPP may consistently best a 302LS

But..

I have no doubt a skilled driver in a 302LS will beat an average driver in a S550 GTPP loud

Well yes, but that can be said about practically any comparison, and therefore had no real bearing on the discussion.

Randy Pobst in a stock Miata ran 1:52.2 at Laguna Seca, which is slightly faster than my best times on R compounds in my 350Z.

Really need to compare times from the same dirver, since that makes such an enormous difference on a road course.

No doubt...I've been passed like Im sitting still by a Miata when I've had 100hp on the miata....And I've done plenty of driving courses and track days. Most people have no concept of how fast professional drivers really are....

Professional drivers don't lift like a bitch, or so I've been told.:headbang:
