GT350 vs Camaro 1LE

True. However they get a bad rap because of all the people who buy a civic and put a fart pipe on it and unrelated NOS/any other brand stickers and then go out in it like it's fast when it's still a 15-16 second POS.

I've got respect for anyone who actually knows what they're doing and turns one of those into a street killing rice rocket. One guy during TX2K out here brings a 700 hp Civic and... damn it's fast.

I still can't stand the sound of the exhaust but those cars can destroy everything in the right hands. Lol.

The gt500 isn't a track focused car, it may have done some decent lap times on various tracks, but the track car of the late model s197 Era is the boss 302 (yes it wasnt as fast as the gt500, but everything about the car was better for doing laps on a road course). No shit they didn't use an auto on the gt500. Had they used that transmission the car would bring even more attention. Like an auto hellcat being much faster than a manual one. The auto in a 5.0 with either a blower or turbos is a deadly combo.

Once the gt350 hype dies down and they sell for retail it would be a good comparison the the 1LE, which I bet will be priced pretty close.

It's going to be a long wait for the H2H on these cars. I hope Ford gives a 350 for the testing. The last gen 1LE/GT comparison, Ford wouldn't give Motor Trend a Boss:

at this point for me it's a coin flip on which car to get next. A test drive will decide

They get a bad rep because of that and how cocky they act and try to hustle people in the light old eg bubbles with k swaps and full bolt ons. They also get a bad rep for how cocky they get once they get any sort of sizes turbo on their car. Dont get me wrong they can be fast but its still a horrible chassis to street race with. Traction is stupid hard to find. I get it if its all your budget can allow for, but dont act as if your honda engine is the best engine to modify and that v8 and 6s are inferior.

I personally havent raced a honda yet that could even hang with any of my drag builds. Especially after the line of trash they talked. This eg k swapped gt37 with slicks out front thought he was hot shit. :lol:

He thought he could hang with a 160+ mph trapping car. He got left like he was in reverse.

The Camaro had more sales for a few years after Chevy restarted production. Overall the Mustang has outsold Camaro by so much there's no comparison.

I thought it was all 5 years of the Gen 5 production. In any case, I don't think the 6th Gen Camaro will overtake the 6th Gen Mustang in sales this go 'round.

Nope. Mustang out sold the Camaro by a wide margin in the 5thGen Camaro's last year of production. I'm pretty sure there was not one month in the last 14 or 15 that the Mustang was not the sales leader.

There are plenty of articles out there where the 1LE packaged Camaro was put head-to-head with a Boss 302. Ford was never afraid to give anyone a car, the timing of the MT request was simply not good.

Technological investment has taken these cars to a whole new level. When you drive a new GT350 you realize just how far the breed has come over the past couple of years. I like...i like...i like...

North American car buyers are the winners...big time. Ford upped the ante when it brought back the GT500 and everyone has followed.

By the time this is all over...there will be a number of variants NA manufacturers can all be proud of... regardless of your preference. Its 1969 all over again, except that this time I can actually afford to buy one. I would be happy to have any of the top dogs in my driveway, but I will always be a Ford guy so move over Dodge and Cheby. :ford:

Now if we could only get the same quality and choice on the political front

Better look again. The mustang has out sold the Camaro more.
In the history of the mustang (50 years) the Camaro only out sold it 10 times.
2010,2011,2013 are the only years since bringing the Camaro back did they out sell the mustang. And 2013 was was only a narrow margin.
