With that old 1955 style pushrod engine
I'm not even going to get started with how inconceivably absurd that statement is. I'm not a GM fanboy but I'm also not a Ford fanboy either.

That is why the sales are poor on G6 Camaro.
It's been out for 12 seconds...give it some time. It's also all about the marketing. The 5th Gen Camaro sold well because it was plastered all over the place. The 6th Gen Mustang is selling well because it's plastered all over the place. See the trend?

From C&D's test using a non-pro. Take it with a grain of salt until you have a pro back to back them.

"The base GT350 with Track Pack is equal to within a hundredth of a second to the Porsche Carerra and the Corvette C7 with Z51 package."

Well, third party testing of Ford's statement was wrong. We need more data.

With that old 1955 style pushrod engine, no matter what the Chevy engineers do they will never make N.A.100hp per litre. The last Z/28 Camaro 7.0L engine only made 505hp and got smoke by a 5.2 L GT350.
That is why the sales are poor on G6 Camaro.
Horsepower per liter is a completely meaningless statistic. People who have a car with a high specific output love to brag about it, but at the end of the day, it means almost nothing.

Okie dokie. If you say so.....

LOL @ 350 is yesterday's track car........Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Your Camaro/GM bias is shining through and very brightly, I might add.
Oh, you've never talked to 5.0 435 before? He's hunting hard for purchase confirmation.

LOL! I have seen all of his posts on the 350 and the Camaro :)

I just find it funny an older gentleman would do things in that matter seeing how he has owned some great performance cars. Just my opinion:thumbsup:

That was at Gingerman, a twisty, technical track. At a longer track, the Corvette could be quicker.

Well, third party testing of Ford's statement was wrong. We need more data.
What 3rd party testing outside of a Car&Driver journalist/editor?

Randy Pobst tested the GT350R vs the Z28 at Chuckwalla and was a little over a second faster in the GT350R: 1:57.87 vs 1:59.03

[ame]

While each track will vary depending on track length and design (favoring each car's strengths), Randy's performance validates Ford's statement of:

"Specifically, the GT350R is good for lap times equal to the hundredth of a second compared to the $130,000-priced 911 GT3, and over a second quicker than the Chevy Camaro Z/28."

So i'm more inclined to believe Ford's statment that the 350TP is as fast as a C7 Z51.

That was at Gingerman, a twisty, technical track. At a longer track, the Corvette could be quicker.
It was Grattan, not Gingerman. Still tight and technical but it has a longer straight.

Corvette GTLM VS. Ford GT. Results @ the Rolex 24 . Push rod Chevy 1-2
The Shelby GT350 R-C did win the continental @ Daytona but there were only 8 cars and only Porsche. No Camaro,Bmw, Aston Martin and etc.

I really want the Ford GT to do well in the Rolex series and I think they will because they have the speed. They had trans problems @ the Rolex. When the 24 hours @ Le Mans comes in June Ford will be ready. 50 years and it's great for Ford and us fans can be proud as hell.
But remember Corvette has won there 8 times since 1966. They are now both competing in the GTLM class. Should be a great year in racing.
