I just bought a used 2016 GT350 with 36,600 miles on it, car seems clean, history per the car fax stated had issue with oil consumption?, car appears to me to have the Tech. package non recaro seats, but is has a "mode" for sport, track, weather, normal, plus a steering wheel mode for damper suspension. Could this car have both the Tech & Track packages? Thank you for all information/advise.

All normal for a tech pack. Go look for the diff cooler under rear valence and a transmission oil cooler from the front passenger side lower grille to the transmission. Strut tower brace from stamped steel or the track pack spoiler are too easy to update and will throw you off.

No they all have the steering mode. Do you have the smaller spoiler and the bigger radio screen? Check your differential for an oil cooler, if not, you have a tech pack. Nothing wrong with that if you are not tracking the car. Just enjoy it.

Nope, not possible to get tech and track pack together. It is easier IMO though to add track components to tech pack than vice versa. I added a transmission cooler to mine, and I prewired for a diff cooler out back, but never added it as I have yet to see axle temps above 170. You can use forscan to add diff and trans temps to your info screen (already activated on track packs). Do a search on here I have posted very detailed instructions for forscan. To get the axle temp to display you will need to add a sensor out back but it's easy, the sensor screws into a blind hole in the diff cover. I have previously posted instructions for that as well. If you need them let me know.

The 3 differences between a 2016 Tech Pack and Track Pack car were the engine, transmission and rear end coolers or lack thereof, no Recaro seats on a Tech Pack car and of course a much smaller rear spoiler for the Tech Pack cars versus a much more aggressive and larger rear spoiler for the Track Pack car.

What kind and size of spoiler do you have on this car?

Lastly, get a copy of a Window Sticker for your car which will certainly confirm what options that this car was born with!

One clarification of above, ALL GT350s, no matter what year, came with factory engine oil coolers.

Spoiler is easy to swap, rear decklid requires no modification to put a track pack spoiler on a tech pack (I can confirm because I put one on mine). Other Mustang models require drilling, but not on the GT350. You just have to be careful to not scratch up the decklid in case you ever want to put the smaller spoiler back on. A plastic detailer knife works well to remove the glue tape strip. The larger track pack spoiler covers the entire footprint area and then some of the tech spoiler, so won't notice any accidental fine scratches as long as the track pack spoiler remains.

^^^ this is correct. All 2016’s have engine oil coolers

As another poster indicated it is a DIY weekend job to add a trans cooler. Diff cooler is not needed. I track mine a bunch and mitigate no diff cooler by changing the rear diff fluid every 4 - 6 track days depending on the track, ambient temp, and hours on track.

My Carfax shows the oil consumption thing but NEVER has my car used oil in the 17000+ miles I have driven it. Kinda pisses me off that it is on my Carfax and not sure why it would have been there other than an error at the dealership when my car was serviced by them for warranty issues.

What transmission cooler setup did you use? Do you use thermostatic control? Does your setup retain the factory temperature sender?

Here is a pic of the complete electrical diagram I made, using a switch for activation. On the left is the wiring to install a sensor into the diff so it will read in the factory dash display.

I used the Ford cooler and lines, had to cut the end of the lines and use AN fittings with stainless steel braided hose to attach to the drain/fill ports of the transmission. Works awesome, drops temp very quickly. You don't touch the factory transmission temp sensor, no need to.

You will need an external pump, I recommend a gear driven pump instead of a diaphragm pump. Much quieter. I can't hear mine from inside the car unless I really try hard (put windows up, turn off radio, turn off air conditioning).

Cost me about $1000 total to install, but I got a great deal on the ford cooler/lines, if don't price shop will probably cost $1,500. This is with me doing all the labor.

Similar as rb92gt for my trans cooler. Used a gear driven pump (RB Racing scavenge pump); it’s fairly quiet and to date reliable). Used the factory trans cooler kit which contains brackets, radiator, and cooler lines. Cooler lines cut around the front of trans location and AN fittings attached. I use a manual switch via relay to turn on the pump. Temperature readout is factory sensor and used Forscan to activate it on my center digital display.

I did the work myself (except for AN fittings attached to factory hoses) and everything cost me about $1000. To date I have over 35 track days on this setup and many hours of it being on during the road trip to and from the track.

I redid my 16 as well. I swapped the transmission and purchased the trans cooler. I used a Full Tilt boggie racing diff cooler that was thermostatically controlled, As has been said, the Engine cooler is standard
