Saw one comment about holding the knob in a bench vise for drilling/tapping. Is this how everyone is holding to tap the larger size threads?
I just held it in my hand.

i used the bench vise for both drilling and tapping. Drilling may cause it to spin in the vise and mars the leather. For the tapping, your hands dont put enough force to spin it

Drove the car around and wow the shift knob is MUCH BETTER than the stupid stock golf ball

Now we need to see someone with an MGW but with their jam nut instead of their OEM collar to see how it looks. Their jam nut looks smaller so it can fit in their cue ball or gripper knobs.

That's the combo I ultimately want...if no one's tried it soon and I have the scratch I'll do it

Thats what I want to see too. I'm guessing the jam nut may be hidden by the Knob.

This collar would look terible under there and the other one they make for the stock knob doesn't fit. I have both already.

Probably a dumb question but does it bother anyone that the shift knob is a darker shade of silver than the rest of the interior pieces?

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
I think it's funny how people are asking for more pics.

Look up the GT350 lol
The gt350 does not have the gap.
I am sure they want to see it from an incar pov.

MGW OEM collar fits mine, not as flush as the OEM golf ball but a few mm off. Good enough, anything to get away from the god awful pull up reverse collar.

Your setup is what I'll be switching to soon after seeing it in person. Thanks!

I just did this and tapped it all the way through, BUT mine sits way higher than everyone else's for some reason. I've got an 8th inch gap between my reverse lockout.
