Help me out before I order guys. Is the $650 manifold exactly the same as the $1000 version? Is it simply the same part with two product codes? As far as I can tell it appears to be the same but I didn't t want to get the cheaper one only to discover its missing vital parts.

SCT X4, though AED is a bit more expensive than Lund, at AED its Shaun the owner doing your tune and trust me I worked with Lund and they were also great and though they sorted the throttle response out to an extent for me it was never like stock, yes I like lazy smooth throttle and I know many here love the super responsive and sensitive throttle the Lund tunes give but for me it was a no and even after speaking directly with JonSR who really made it better I still reverted to the stock TB and had him do what he can, but even that was not perfect though good.

Shaun from AED sent me base file, car drove just like stock, more impressive the fact this was now using 350 TB. It just felt slow, he said logs good and sent performance file, car feels strong, I'd not say its any quicker, I'd not say its any slower but it drives so much nicer. Only gripe was I like the shift assist rev hang stock car has, I asked and he coded it back in, car drives beautiful.

The impressive thing is I paid around 10pm UK time last night, I had my base file by midnight, two hours later directly from Shaun. I loaded it lunch time UK, sent him logs, by 4pm I had my performance file. I logged it and requested rev hang back, within 2 hours he'd adjusted the tune and sent it.

The turn around time and response is amazing, but the best part is just the car finally drives perfect but like I said Shaun had this setup on his personal A6 car so I guess he had days/weeks/months to perfect every aspect of the tune, I think he ran 10's at around 122mph so quite quick.

I know he is now on cobrajet setup and has run around 10.5@124mph so he clearly quite talented but at the same time also makes the car drive super smooth and like stock, just how I like. :)
Wow!! You can take the rev hang out with AED? Might have to switch away from Lund.

1000 version is the kit with everything needed for the install, 600 is just the plain manifold nothing else

I have the GT350 manifold/TB arriving next Wednesday and will also be going with AED's tune. I paid ~$780 shipped for the manifold/TB combo from Autonation WBL which i think is a great deal. Hopefully they are able to offer similar pricing on future batches.

Yes his tune by default has no rev hang (shift assist) as he said his customers dislike the shift assist. He put it back in for me.

On his tune my car drives smoother than it did with Lund, its just a nicer car to drive plain and simple, performance wise it feels just as quick, but it is smoother for sure.

There is also no card start loudness any more, so my neighbours no longer hate me. ;)

I can say after trying Lund, PBD that Shaun's tune from AED is absolutely the best for drive ability, I don't race my car so I can't tell you if its quicker or not, though timing wise AED is making 31 degrees WOT so seems similar but if I am slower or faster no idea, car feels strong.

For me drive ability was everything and the AED tune drives amazing, even more impressive the fact this is on the GT 350 throttle body as well. Car even drives nice when cold.

So having tried all the top tuners, Shaun for me achieved what the others could not, drive ability.

Thanks for the review!! It'd be a lot cheaper for me to switch if I had bought the SCT instead of the NGauge. Might still do it though.

I've gone around and around with Lund over the rev hang. Logged it for them and everything. Gave up.

I installed my GT350 IM/TB over the weekend and thought I'd share my experience.

- Only other engine/power mods are a JLT (GT) CAI, Corsa Xtreme CB, Reische 170* tstat and (previously) Livernois 93 tune

- Over the past 2 years I’ve been extremely satisfied with the Livernois tune - car ran great, and I have 14 track days with that setup. Based on the feedback in this thread and the reputation of AED on another track-focused forum (TMO) I knew I wanted to give Shaun's tune a try and baseline that against Livernois with the new GT350 IM/TB setup.

- After installing the IM/TB I loaded up the Livernois tune - which they now support for the GT350 setup. I was a bit surprised by how rough the idle was – constantly swinging from ~600 rpm – 1200 rpm. Thought that would smooth out over a few minutes…it didn’t. Took the car for a drive – full throttle felt fine, but normal stop/go driving resulted in terrible part-throttle surging, esp. in 3rd gear.

- Next up, cleared the Livernois tune and loaded Shaun’s base tune. Pretty much exactly as Gibbo205 and Jayme had described – totally smooth and drives like stock (except an animal above 6k rpms). This tune is absolutely DIALED.

- I contacted Livernois about the issues I experienced and unfortunately they have not tested my exact combo (i.e. JLT CAI with the GT350 IM/TB) - they’ve only tested with the factory GT350 CAI. I know there has to be many customers that are very very happy with that setup, but with how well AED’s tune runs I have little interest in going back and forth further to see if the GT350 CAI would resolve the issue.

HUGE thumbs up to Shaun at AED.

GT350 intake comes with a different MAF sensor, me thinks.
Yes that is correct. Just a shortfall in the Livernois approach as their remote tunes can only support their in-house tested setups.

HUGE thumbs up to Shaun at AED.

Glad you like, Shaun contacted me yesterday to let me know he had a GT with the 350 setup on his dyno and it was a manual.

He said he witnessed an oscillation around 1000rpm in 1st gear, as such he tuned it out and asked me how mine felt. I said it feels damn good but yeah first gear pull off I suppose could be improved.

He sent me the revision and indeed the car pulls away easier.

I've never had a tuner get in touch with me before offering an update, so fantastic customer service.

I have to say my car drives the best its ever done with the AED tune, the throttle is silky smooth but whilst also being super responsive but with none that bumpy and jumpiness the Lund tune had. It is impossible to compare performance but it feels no slower and in some cases it feels quicker. For instance anyone with an M6 will know cruising at 60-70mph in 6th gear and if you put your foot down a little generally results in nothing, but on the AED tune the car pulls, it pulls really surprisingly well, like as good as 5th did when car was stock.

I even did a twisty road drive and just left the car in 5th, as it felt substantially more responsive from lower RPM range, of course this could just be placebo from the bigger stepped throttle body and how it feels more responsive, as I gave up on the 350 TB with Lund tune as it was simply not driving good enough for me, so I reverted to stock TB with Lund and sacrificed some top-end horsepower.

In short on the AED tune the car drives better, there is absolutely no negatives for me on the AED tune in comparison to the Lund tune, AED. Even better the AED tune is with the 350 TB so I get those 8-10 horses back at the top-end.

All I can say, anyone with a GT 350 or Cobra jet setup on an A6 or M6 who is a little unhappy with the gas pedal being bumpy/jumpy, should get in touch with Shaun from AED as he has had both setups on his own personal car and tuned several other customers cars in house on his dyno and on the road.

Very happy with AED! :)

Hi Austin, I'm just about to have Shaun tune my stock GT 6spd Auto as well optimized for the road course and time attack. Did you have your rev-hang removed? Since you do road courses as well, do you prefer to have rev-hang to minimize throttle-off oversteer?
