Has anyone weighed their 2018+ GT Premium's? I have a 2018 with 401A and Safe & Smart (yes, the heaviest options that don't increase performance) and I just weighed it at a CAT scale and it said that the car weighs 3920lbs. I've done some weight reduction as well (no rear seats or seat belts, spare tire and jack deleted, and a resonator delete) so seeing a number that high just seems odd. I'm curious as to what you guys have gotten when you weighed your car, because I'm not sure I'm I was still on the scale when they took the measurement, so it could be significantly lower.

Is that auto or manual? There's a big difference. My manual Bullitt (fully loaded, but they don't come with 'safe & smart') supposedly weighs 3,850 fully fueled. But I don't trust manufacturer figures that much. But sounds about right to me... if yours is an auto :D.

Dang. Ford really be making these S550's heavy.
Ford is not intentionally making them heavy. A lot of the weight is due to Government regulations. Remember this is a ā€œworldā€ car so itā€™s not US regulations. Safety has a cost and itā€™s measured in pounds.

Then you have materials. Could lower weight materials be used? Of course but the bean counters are not going to allow this. Buyers would not respond well to the additional cost either.

Lastly there is feature content. Many of us are happy with a bare bones base car but even they have a ton of features that add weight. That V8 isnā€™t exactly a lightweight either. Now take a GT, add all the goodies, and then question why it is so heavy.

By the way as a comparison letā€™s use another hi powered grand tourer, the Aston Martin DB11, 3,880 to 4,134 lbs.

Dang. I can't imagine 401a and S&S are that heavy? But maybe all the electronics are close to 150lbs.

CAT scales said a full tank of gas, base GT, 400a (larger LCD, flip knobs), ditched passenger seat, and my 200lb ass was 3940, so yeah, that puts the base GT manual at 3740 without me.

It's now under 3400 without me and with an 8 point cage, but you've got to throw a few things away to get there.

OK so i have a 2019 gt primium, safe and smart, a-10, 20 inch wheels, 401a basically everything but no pp1. I have removed the 20 inch wheels and put on the 19 pp1 black wheels and removed the tire inflation kit. That is all I have removed.
I have added, roughly 14 lbs of killmat, two 13.5 lbs sub woofers, added the ford collaboration kit which changes the throttle body and CAI, added the pp1 strut tower brace and 1 inch spacers on back wheels plus various other cosmetic do dads that equal up to a few lbs im sure. I had nothing in my car glove box and center box was empty and nothing loose in car and a half tank gas when I went across scales and I was not in car.. this was my weight 3840. sorry not sure why my picture are always so big :) oh and a rez delete and replaced with a borla switchfire.
