You are correct, the car should not have been released to me without the software update. Should I read the service manager the riot act, and demand a Roush supercharger for the inconvenience.I thought they were not released until corrected (?) Looks like you got a November 2017 at the latest. By 1st week in December I think they were coming off the line with correction in place.
I googled recalls on the 2018. The only one that I found was for the cluster update that affects the shifter. 17C21When you can, ask them for a recall # or copy of the letter to post up here. I knew of the recall affecting the 12” digital cluster issue, but never heard it referenced as a “transmission reprogram”.
Just want to be certain that what the Dealer is telling you is one in the same...
MY 2018 GT with A10 has a build date of 11/20/17 and when I found it on a dealer lot late December, I was not able to pick it up until Jan 9, 2018 due to the update required by Ford. It has something to do with the PRNDS not showing on the digital gauge (401A package) once the car was turned off after a drive. Is your GT equipped with the digital cluster? I do not know if this software update applied only to digital cluster equipped GT's or all Autos (manual were excluded from this of course).Just got my GT Wednesday. Dealership calls me today saying that there's a recall on the car and it needs the transmission reprogrammed. I made an appointment for monday. Anybody else know anything about this recall?
https://ford.oemdtc.com/3321/compli...n-warning-and-gear-position-2018-ford-mustangMy build date is 10/12/2017. 17C21 has to be the recall they've called me about. A phone call sees out of the ordinary, right. Shouldn't they have mailed me a notice?
