Have a base GT500 on order but thinking about upgrading/getting a race set of tires. Any suggestion on wheels/tires for a GT500. Was thinking about getting the Carbon Fiber wheels from Ford and then getting race/drag strip tires to match. New to this game so any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have that kind of dough, might as well go CFTP. I have a base 350 and want the R wheels now after doing research. Wish I had just got the R.

I feel your pain. I love the CUP2 tires on my 350 albeit the PS4s is a great tire. That is what my daily Hellcat wears. I would love the Carbon wheels with cup 2s with the normal Swing/Gurney Flap combo. I don't like the big wang. I know it does a great job but most of that down force is at pretty high speed so I have a hard time believing it provides enough advantage by itself for me to suffer the appearance of it. Supposedly the CFTP was 5 seconds faster around VIR (my favorite track) but that is the type of track the wing would play a factor like in the high speed climbing esses and the back straight coming into the roller coaster. Most tracks I don't think the wing would be much of a factor.

You did say race/drag strip tire? Which one? Are you trying to use a Cup 2 as dual purpose? Normally I'd say get a drag radial but seeing this cars drag strip performance on PS4s you may actually get away with it and be able to do both well. Man that is something! Coming from Hellcats I need Drag Radials.

For strip usage PS4s have a compound rating (UTQG) of 300, Cup2s are 180. But you can do better with a drag radial
like Nitto NT05R, 00 UTQG. The NT05R comes in 315/35R20 which is almost an inch taller than stock (fender rubbing?).
It also comes in 345/30r19, but will a 19' wheel fit over the brakes and will it not rub everywhere width wise.
