Are you pulling the dipstick straight up and out? As in not bending it?Lol that's actually a funny video, and I guess I can see why he says it's so easy. Unfortunately when I pull it out like he does, it's smeared just like [MENTION=18082]EF300[/MENTION] stated. I've checked oil on plenty of cars, many of times. It smears so much that even after an oil change it still looks empty, but runs fine for thousands of miles.

Essentially where the black k brace and strut bar meet is where the dipstick should be coming out.
You can also try spinning the dipstick on the other side and trying again
