I'm at a little bit of a loss here. The dealer has wasted my time twice already saying they can't reproduce the issue so I thought I would go to the forums and see if somebody can help diagnose/point to a solution to this issue.

About 2-3 times during my 40 min daily commute, as I am coming to a stop(low speed under 10mph, usually in stop and go traffic) the brakes make a terrible loud groaning sound that I feel through the brake pedal, letting off the pedal makes it go away and applying pressure again makes it louder until I come to a full stop. Then the next time I stop the breaks are as quiet as it could be only to groan again in 5-10 miles. It definitely is not the ABS since I had that go off in the winter and its a completely different feeling. This is a prolonged groan, at the same pitch. VS more of crunchy alternating feel when the ABS goes off. This happens on at random times with no wet asphalt in sight. Just happened to me twice going out to lunch and its 80 degrees, dry and sunny out. Last time it happened I had my windows open and I'm almost 100% sure its coming from the front Brembos, not the rear brakes.

The dealers can't reproduce it for an obvious reason, they take it on a 5 min drive, stop 2-3 times and then tell me theres nothing there because unless they drive 20 min or so they wont experience it. I can :frusty: all I want but they won't listen to me unless they can hear the issue themselves. I do my own oil changes and avoid the dealerships like the plague but they don't seem to understand that I am not wasting their time by going there.

Car has 6000 miles and pads look to have a lot of meat left on them.

If anybody had the same issue/ knows how to handle the wonderful service managers at the dealership, I would be very grateful.

I would try a different dealer.

Buy a go pro or use your phone. They will try and help but if they can't replicate it .. Can't really blame them. Time is money and they need some evidence before committing the hours into diagnosis.

I would check your wheel nuts make sure they're tight At the very least.

I think you'll either have to record it or see if you can find some way to reproduce it and ask to have a tech ride with you to demonstrate.

Sounds normal for the high performance Brembo brakes that the PP model comes with. Sometimes you will get noise from them, whether it be a squeal, squeak, or groan. That's the price you pay for high performance brake pads and calipers that are track ready.

All the dealer could possibly do is replace the pads and machine the rotors, and you will still have intermittent brake noise because they are the same parts.

I started to get this as well in addition to brake squeel. It sounds like its coming from the front passenger side wheel while the squeel is coming from the back.

Its hard to replicate even when i tried driving around with a phone to record it. It would, as per tradition, do it loudly the few times i didnt hit record.

I can hear it low on most stops but there are some where it gets loud. Much much louder than the music i had on. The first time i heard it i thought it was feedback somehow going through the speakers. It has that feedback sound, or like using your parking brake on a hill but its not engaged all the way so it slips and makes a noise. Old police car brakes also make a similar noise.

I get it often whwn driving home from work and on the parkway for about 15-20 minutes driving straight with little to no braking. Because there is little to no traffic at this time there isnt much if any braking or brake heat. Unless a brake is grabbing i dont think its heat related.

There should be no reason the brakes make this noise, especially not at the volume they do

Can you replicate the noise on command? If so take the service writer / tech for a ride.

Or try a different dealer. Or record on your phone.

My Brembos do this sometimes. A car wash fixes it until it happens again many many many many many many many miles later. Been 5K since the last time they groaned and only happens if I'm inching around in m'fing traffic. I think it's the epic brake dust producing pads these Brembos come with. I have never seen so much brake dust... I don't even bother cleaning the rims anymore... 50 miles later they're dirty again.

im able to replicate it at times, only when i dont have my phone ready to record of course. its from slow movement stops and i think with a tech on board then he should be able to hear it. The squeal is always there and consistent.

It's normal for a high performance brake system to exhibit intermittent noise.

Dropped it off today, the tech heard the squeek but was talking too kuch about not hearing the groan when it happened. He tried to spit some nonsense about it being because theyre semi-ceramic brakes but i cant really buy that. Ive done too many brake jobs myself and never had a huge squeel problem.

They even dismissed the back panel drooping despite being able to see the 3m stick tape and hear that old sticker noise when it drooped back down.

Waiting for the call to see how it goes

Mine groan sometimes and squeak frequently. These brakes don't appear to like slow, dragging stops very much, but I'm sure the drivers in front of me don't appreciate me zooming up behind them and stomping on the brakes, either.

Brought mine in and they cleaned everything up and deglazed the pads. Their diagnoses was that it was juat brake dust buildup.

I drive it out of the lot and i think i hear something but ignore it. When i get home less than a 10 minute drive later theyre back to squealing so loud i hear it through the windows. Purely unacceptable.

Edit: I also was able to get the groaning on a cell phone recording and you can hear it pretty decent. I will show them this tomorrow as well.
