Looking at the photos and comparing the GT vs eco vs V6 it seems that the GT grille is set deeper than the others, about an inch, maybe more.

Has anyone given any thoughts to if there are fastening differences in the models that would prohibit (or make difficult) a grille swap? I can handle a screwdriver - but not much more :D

I'm pretty sure they will all mount in the same locations. The difference in Grill Depth will be accomodated by the Grill Molding it's self.

well, as far as i understood, the ecoboost cars will Feature active grill shutters to improve aerodynamics...
These shutters will be behind the grill-"surface", resulting in less grill depth as the grill-"surface" has to be moved foreward a bit to give enough room for those active shutters...

the question is: can you swap them without Messing up aerodynamics (Keep in mind, the v8 has heat extractors on the bonnet, which are said to be also being providing extra downforce... ok: this is only relevant for racetrack- and german-autobahn-use (i.e. Speeds far beyond 100mph)
second you have to consider engine cooling. the aerodynamics (now not concerning drag or downforce but air flow through the engine bay). Ford says the have custom made aerodynamics for each engine (i4 v6 and v8). so if you put that decent and low capacity i4 grill on the v8, there will certainly be cooling problems

I'm hoping it's easy and I'm thinking it should be pretty straight forward. I'm not concerned with the shutters on the eb. Getting a GT. I'm hoping to get an anniversary edition so swapping out the grille will be a top priority... assuming the side louvers are removable.

As for the hood vents, they are most likely to relieve air pressure under the hood. Anyone who's driven a gen 5 knows why. There's plenty of air flow for cooling the engine. So much that the grille is partially closed off.

Hah! With avg. temperatures of +5'C in the summer and max speeds of 90 kph (90% at 50kph) I'm pretty sure heat and airflow won't be an issue up here... :D
