I'm not to sure about when or why they are active...something about the environment or some jazz...whatever your car is doing is normal.

Ok, my bad. Just went and looked at my car and I see them.....guess I never noticed. Now answer me this, when are they supposed to be shut vs open. They were open just now, started the car and they stayed open (car has not been driven in about 4-5 hours)......normal?
Since they are active shutters they open and close as conanded. If you have a Cobb AP you and log the shutters % open. From logging mine I notice in warmer weather the open when stopped and close down as you move. In cold weather they partially close and stay that way.

Is that it's the base tune? I thought all tunes deactivated the shutters but sounds like cobb didn't :)

You would have to load the stage 0 tune which is the stock tune emulated on the Cobb. Once you go stage 1 or higher the shutter tables are set to 100% open all the time. I used Cobb Access Tuner Race (bought it just before they pulled it from the market) to change the shutter table back to stock values in the winter.

Stupidly enough I hadn't actually picked up on that, but had been wondering how to log the stock tune (wanted to keep an eye on misfire count for a while).

Does anyone know if flashing a stock ECU with Cobb stage 0 will increment the ECU "number of times tuned" counter?

Presumably then flashing later with Stage 1 will then increment the counter again?

So, here's my journey with these active grill shutters.
When I first purchased my car I immediately bought a new grill because of how ugly the stock one was. Personally I find the gt grill the most attractive once you do a "delete kit" on it. Anyway back to the story. So I removed the upper and lower grill and noticed the ungodly AGS system, so I removed it. This was the first time I've removed it. Well after I removed it I guess I snagged a wire on something and it snapped without me knowing and blew a fuse(which I didn't know at the time) well I live up near mount rainier in Washington and I was taking my wife to see the snow. That wire that I snagged tapped the frame.........well that wire was connected also to the fuse that regulates the turbo waste gate. Idk if you have ever tried to drive the EB with a turbo not building boost but it's scarier that hell. And it just so happened to go out when I was passing someone. That motor without the turbo is horribly slow. Like 2008 Ford Focus slow. Anyway took it to ford they fixed it.
Second time removing them. Took them out pulled the AGS motor. Zipptied it to the frame. No codes. Car works fine.

I removed my AGS, zip tied the motor to the frame too......I have noticed no changes...I'd imagine only better cooling to radiator and intercooler
