Just WRONG!
holly smokes this is not a job I would do. I looked over the install instructions, wow, I did not realize how much work went into changing out the grill. I think the open grill looks really cool. I would prefer a way to still have the pony in the middle, but I would need someone lese to install it for me.If you are looking for more airflow, you could just add Lethal Peformance's grille delete kit FWIW

I took my time and changed grills myself. Only took a couple hours at most. Not very difficult, just be patient. I haven't decided if I like it better with or without the pony.holly smokes this is not a job I would do. I just installed it on my GT last weekend. Did the job myself, so I can't speak on an install cost. But It's really not that hard. Time consuming, but not difficult. The only hard part is finding the little hidden screws ford has holding the sides of the bumper on :tsk:holly smokes this is not a job I would do. No, but you could easily add it if you wanted itMental note: Lethal's grille setup will look awesome with a ProCharger intercooler proudly framed inside it.
Is there some kind of mesh in it?

I'm going to attemp this tomorrow
It's straight through, no mesh.Does Lethal's grille setup have a mesh grill or is it straight thru? Can't tell in the pic's I've seen.
RPI sells a modified grill frame with stainless steel grill at a pretty reasonable price.

Considering the air inlet tube pulls from the grille, water would have to make it into the tube and up (at an angle) to get to the filter. I don't think water is going to get in your filter if it rains and the car is sitting still. MAYBE if its raining hard and you're driving fast, but I don't know. Again, this is just my thoughts far from proven fact. But you have to take into consideration; the last gen GT500 came with an open grille..so I would assume Ford did some testing to make sure water/debris didn't get into the intake and obviously found it wasn't a problem.Which is the one i was literally about to finalize my purchase with, credit card information dialed in and all. I then ran across this thread and noticed a couple of people saying having an opening where the air intake sits is not a good idea due to water coming in when it rains so im waiting for confirmation by any of you guys about whether it would really be a problem or not
