Since the EU gets along so well, they will unite everything and create the EU police force in grabber blue mustangs :-) Actually funny the result you get if you google smurf & mustang in the same sentence :D

This reply back from Mustang Ford.

Good morning,
This vehicle has been submitted for an August build date.
A fixed date will be allocated nearer to August. :ford:

Grabber Blue (Atoll Blau) is no longer on Mustang konfigurator for Ford Germany. This color option has been removed recently. Therefore this color option is really no longer available.

Just as I suspected. I read on another forum, that a customer (Germany) ordered GB in May and was informed by his dealer a couple of weeks ago that this color option is not available and he must choose another color. Customer is peeved and is considering cancelling his Mustang order all together.

Ford seems tight lipped on why they pulled the rug out on this color option for EU. Next time I see my Ford dealer I will try to find out why this happened.

I dont think that the the shade of blue in Grabber Blue is the problem. As others have said, many other colours are close and Volvo, Audi and Porsche all offer very similar colours.

Perhaps the problem is the paint used in GRabber Blue which is causing this stop?

I don't follow you ? If there is a problem with the paint, why discontinue that color or paint only in eu ? why not asia, UK, U.S ?

That's a good question that I expected someone to ask. I know GB is still available in the U.S. GB is a classic Ford color in the states and will remain on market as long as Ford is producing Mustangs. EU, Asia, Oz and other overseas markets I don't know. We need some members from i.e. Asia, UK, UAE, to chime in is GB still available to order. :gossip:

Don't know but its not uncommon for a color to be dropped part way into a year if demand outpaces the contracted amount from the supplier or the supplier isn't able to meet higher demands. A lot of car makers were impacted due to earthquakes destroying paint component manufacturing in Japan/Asia a few years ago.

So its POSSIBLE Grabber Blue demand in all markets combined is much higher than Ford contracted for and if the supplier can't meet the demand or wants too much money to expand the contract, Ford might do something like this. Maybe sacrifice one market instead of cutting back in all markets later in the year if analysis shows most EU GB buyers would accept another color than the typical GB buyer in other markets.

Total speculation, but plausible.

Australian Mustangs in Grabber Blue are due to start being delivered in September, along with the other new colours and My17 models. It does only appear to be EU countries that are facing GB elimination, which makes no sense. It is one of the halo heritage colours for Mustang. It may not be to everyone's taste but everyone should have the choice!!
