Felt great to get out in my GT and on my mountain bike. Had my ass handed to me by stronger riders but the drive back to my house.... so fun shifting thru the gears. Got home and took my pup out to let his legs stretch out too...

Sure looks like fun! I am thinking of carrying my MTB on my Mustang, what hitch do you have?

Nice! That's what Mustang life is all about, imo. I take mine into the mountains to do dozen mile long hikes, and when I get back life is good (even though my clutch leg is usually sore lol).

Can you show me pictures of your tow set up. How much did it cost you?

Thanks

Hitch is about $150 and could be installed from jack stands but not easy so figure an hours labor for a shop to install. Rack is pricey at $600 but this one has lasted me 5 years now and being a 'friend of the industry' means I can usually get pricing at less then wholesale so there is that.

Can the hitch be removed?

Can the hitch be removed?
Rack is lockable, has built-in cables with locks for the bike and is removable. Hitch is removable but might take some work to retrieve the bolts and washers that secure it to the vehicle. Assembly is done using fish wires (think Chinese finger trick) that you use to thread bolts with washers into the rear subframe and out the holes (existing) where the hitch mounts then nuts and lockwashers hold it in place. if you remove the nuts to extract the hitch you will have to figure out how to get the hardware inside the subframe back out otherwise they will probably live in there and join all the other creaks, rattles, and groans our cars can make lol. I installed this same hitch on the two EB stangs I leased and just turned the car in with the hitch in place :D Driving through winters made the old hardware tough to loosen up, seeing that I work in my dirt driveway on ramps/stands it wasn't worth my time.
