I've been lurking for a year now and wishing that I could find an allocation to order a RR GT350. In the meantime, I have been looking for an already built car at dealerships all over the Midwest. As you all know, the ones that have them want ADM's, and I wasn't willing to pay.

I took my wife to see one a month or so ago, to get her feeling part of the decision. She fell in love with it. This was around the time the recall happened and they offered to sell at MSRP. I told them I'd wait until it was fixed and then be back to buy. Waiting was killing me, I thought someone else may come in and buy it. Out of the blue yesterday, I get a call from the salesperson. Buy it today and we'll go a little under MSRP. I caved in a said OK. Put a deposit on it and now wait for the fix.

17' Race Red with OTT Black Stripes, Convenience package.

Thank you all for your help passing time while I waited for a deal...:headbang:

Congrats! You going to love it... Don't hold on driving it, I don't think the oil cooler lines will explode out of the blue...I am driving mine on a daily basis, but I do check for oil leaks every now and again under the car..

I'd love to drive it. The dealership is forbidden from completing the sale until the recall is remedied. It's really ok anyway, we will have snow and ice on the ground in a few days.

That's what really sucks! Who knows when the parts will be in stock seeing how many cars have to be done. I know people who have dropped their cars off at the dealer for an oil change and the dealer wouldn't release the car until a recall was done and it seems like this could happen to some 350 owners so I'd be weary of dealer work if my car were affected. My GS has an air bag recall so I called to verify it wasn't the actual bag before I did anything. Luckily it's only the programming for the bag and not the bag itself. They confirmed that had it been the bag and I took it in for a simple service, the car wouldn't have left until the parts were in stock due to liability... Thankfully my GT350 was built post recall so it wont be affected when it arrives :hail:

Jan/Feb is probably when they will have the parts available. Cars sitting at dealerships are probably among the ones that will be addressed first.

My concern is how is it being stored. I wouldn't want it on the showroom floor, nor would I want it sitting outside in the elements. A battery tender on it as well as documenting the exact mileage would be in order. Another thought, is temperature. Get a quart of 5w50 and put it outside in your Minnesota winter and see how thick that oil can get. I would not want a bunch of salesmen starting the car and cold revving the motor, it is one of the worst things you can do.

Make sure the car is being properly stored and cared for.

Congratulations.

Yeah I get nervous any time I have to leave any of my vehicles as they're all exciting to dealer staff... Caught 2 jackass techs in my '15 GT out to lunch when it was supposed to be in the body shop! They parked it in the parking lot and got out and left the windows down. I just happened to be in the drive thru and called them over, told them who I was and you'd of thought they saw a ghost :paddle: Long story short the managers knew about it before they got back and they're lucky I spared them their jobs. They had no idea who I was and that we know the owner of the dealership  Now they all know who I am and there's 2 people that drive them while they're there!

It will be inside. They did have to plug the car in to open it up and let me sit in it. Owner started it up and let me listen when I went in. He was the only one allowed to get inside. It will be a while until it's in my heated garage to sleep for the winter. Until then, I am at their mercy. I'll check up on it often. :)

Good thoughts. I know some people don't understand why I would drive a GT350 on wintry days, but I can tell you from experience that the car works fine in below zero weather.
