Nice, lol. I encountered a pretty cool cop as well just a few days ago. He was in the middle lane going like 40 in a 50 and everyone was too scared to pass him up. I honestly passed him up going like 55mph and then I had to stop for the red light. He pulled up and asked me, "Nice!! What stage is that?" and we chatted up for a bit. Said he had a '14 GT.

I've gotten pretty lucky several times too. There's SO many times where I've floored it and then all of a sudden seen a cop and I KNOW they've seen AND heard me. So many "oh shitt!!" moments. :D
A couple of days ago, I revved out 1st and 2nd in a 40mph area... wasn't going real fast, but made a lot of noise (thanks to the headers). And immediately after doing that my radar detector went nuts detecting ka band. Dropped to the speed limit, and quietly cruised by the cop coming out a side street.

I'm sure he knew it was me. :D

Just this morning, I'm merging from I-675 to I-75, the merge is a long gradual curve, and I'm coming off of that going way faster than the posted 65MPH speed limit. I stay in the right lane because that lane turns into an exit only and I am wanting to get off at the next exit. So I am slowing down but still technically speeding. All of a sudden I notice out of the corner of my left eye there is a car driving right even with me. So I look over and it's a state highway patrol in a Dodge Charger. The officer is smiling and waving so I smile and wave back. He then starts pointing down as to indicate slow it down and I give him the thumbs up. He stayed on the highway and I got off at that exit. He obviously was on I-75 and seen me flying on to I-75. I would've loved to seen his face at that moment! "Look at this mthrfckr right here" :eyebulge::crazy: But I am very lucky he was cool.

I swear man, I do this every single time when coming from the next exit. As opposed to just going on the roads, I love hopping on the interstate, hauling ass, and then getting off at the next exit.

And it seems like every other time there's a cop that I end up next to.

Yep, definitely better than stop and go every 50 feet in town driving.

I passed a cop the opposite way a few months ago in my bimmer doing 110 on a sweeping road towards my neighborhood (30mph zone). I was already in my driveway with the hose and all my detailing supplies out by the time he caught up to me. Let me off with a warning but ill never forget him running up yelling "WHAT THE F*$K IS GOING ON HERE, IS THERE A G@D DAMN FIRE I DONT KNOW ABOUT OR SOMETHING"

edit: I also always have my license, registration, and CWP ready by the time he gets to the window when I get pulled and usually prepared to have my ass handed to me. Don't argue and they always treat you right, even if that means a ticket sometimes.

I have been let off far too many times haha. Cops of the county and baltimore city (but never MSP) have been pretty forgiving about half the time. I have also been pulled over by some real arseholes, and that is with regards to the fact that I ALWAYS roll windows down and act cool as F. Never argue. Still catch some that are giant dbags every now and then. Most of the time when Im let off now its because of the ER badge. Im also not black, so thats def a plus in the city. The "blacklivesmatter" jokes are funny but real talk zimmerman would be in jail for a life sentence if he was black :/

Zimmerman is a dick that was out on a hunting trip. True, he was attacked while being held down, but he went looking for it.

I blasted past a DPS suv eastbound on the Ronald Reagan Memorial Hwy aka , the EastTex Autobahn. The posted limit is 75, but with radar blocking concrete barriers between lanes, wide open spaces and light traffic, hilltop to hilltop speed is all about how much you trust your detector.
The detector lit up, I saw the Trooper, but by then I was crawling along at 80 and thought it would not be an issue but he was right on me, usual traffic stop, issued a warning for 80 in a 75, it was a fair stop, think he just wanted to make sure I was not under the influence.
If you are ever in the area, the best kept secret highway in the country is California Hwy 168 / Nevada Hwy 266 running from US 395 to US 95 north of Vegas, there your radar detector fires when fighter jets lock in on you and speed limits are a suggestion; run down the jackrabbits but watch out for the cattle.

It is hard to talk your way out of a ticket but damn easy to talk your way into one ;)

I don't give too many breaks if I'm on the motor.

Like most of the other posts, I've definitely been given some slack by cops and have had more positive or neutral experiences than negative ones. This particular story has a bit of both.

In the late 80's I was 16 and had my first car, a '65 mustang 289 coupe. Cops would often follow me in that thing and just wait for me to do something they could pull me over for. Sometimes they'd follow me all the way home and just cruise slowly away as I pulled into my driveway. In fairness, I did engage in the odd street race in those days and generally liked making that 289 wail every chance I got. Did some irresponsible things in that car that I wouldn't think of doing now.

This particular night though, I was on good behavior. My little brother and I were literally on the way to grandma's house. It was dark, and the old mustang's instrument lights were out. Since I couldn't see how fast I was going, I would just drive slow at night. We got on the freeway and I noticed we were being tailgated pretty closely by another car. So closely, I couldn't even make out the shapes of it's headlights. I sped up just a little and moved to the slow lane. The car behind me does the same thing but stays right on our tail. We speed up just a little more and the car is still there.
By now, my brother and I were talking about what an asshole this guy was, and wondering what he was up too. 2-3 miles go by and the car behind us inches even closer. I finally get enough, thinking the guy wants to start trouble, and decide to use the little v8 to get us out of there. I shift the 3 speed manual down into 2nd and punch it hard. The 289 let's out a banshee wail and I watch the other car's headlights start to get small. I clicked the lights off and on to say, "bye sucker"! We had gotten enough distance then to notice the headlight configuration of the tailgater and had just a second to think, "those look like crown vic headlights" - then the blue lights come on! The tailgater was another cop waiting for me to make a mistake and I had obliged him big time.

Boy was he pissed! "What the hell you think this is boy, some kinda game!"

I just yes-sirred and No-sirred him to death and tried to explain my side. He raked me over the coals pretty good, but let me go with a warning in the end.

I got lucky with the warning for sure, being a black kid with a shiny car, in south Carolina in the 80's, it was a miracle I didn't at least get arrested. He clocked me over 90 in 55. Said he was following me because I was going so slow. BUT, had he not been following me so closely for so long, there would not have been an issue.
