Not sure I completely agree with that. A t-stat is a purely mechanical device that reacts solely to coolant temp. Vehicle movement or engine rpm, by itself, will not affect when/how the t-stat opens. Yes, as engine rpm increases, it will further heat up the coolant, and increase the coolant flow through the t-stat. I can understand the fans having an inpact. But I'm still trying to reconcile a coolant temp gauge that doesn't move, with a CHT that moves 30 deg.when parking, temperature is managed by when the cooling fan turns on. A thermostat won’t change that.
