Good evening,

I will be switching to E85 soon for the track. I think I will do E85 for track w/ 69mm pulley and Fore Fuel System. Most days I will run 75mm pulley and 93.

Is there anything wrong with E85 sitting in the system? Any issues with corrosion? I don't know what I don't know so is there anything I should know/look out for with E85?

You need a fuel system to run E85 reliably - not sure if you've already done that. Also you need to watch the ethanol content - maybe get an ECA (http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/ECA/ECA.shtml) or just test it yourself everytime you fill up. Depending on your tune you're always going to want at least E70-E75. I finally found a station that has E85 all year which is nice. Lastly cold starts can be somewhat difficult on E85. The motor might stall the first couple of times if it's really cold out.

I have a Fore Triple pump stage 4 fuel system I will be installing soon.

Interesting info on the ethanol content monitoring. Lund will be doing my tune. You think he tunes to monitor that?

Thanks gof the info!

Lund will set a stoich value for E85 (9.85) in your tune. If you only have access to E70 you can tell them and they will set the appropriate stoich value in the tune. Here is an interesting video on an electronic ethanol content analyzer. I use the glass tube to test E85.

You should know to run 93 octane every 4-5 tanks. Its better for your fuel system and valve guides life span. E85 is a dryer fuel. Its not as dry is shell urt advance or ftw purple etc race fuels but is on the dryer side.

I will be running E85 soon with a Fore system as well soon. I used to run Allstar upper engine lube in my methanol when I raced modified race cars. I was going to ask the tuner I use if it would do any harm. It states it safe to run with fuel injection and can be mixed with Gasoline, Methanol or Ethanol

Shouldnt need a specific additive. Just use a tank of 93 every 4-5 tanks and youll be fine. Hell even 10-12 tanks. Just alternate using these flex fuel tunes. Ive been running e85 in my dailys for the past 7 years or so. Which is well before flex fuel tunes.
