So I don't have an S550 but I think this could still be a valid question. Has anyone had an aftermarket LTH catless setup and decided to go back to catalytic converters? I have a 2011 GT and have stainless works LT with catless X-pipe for about 5 years and 25-30k miles. I want to put catalytic converters back on, but I think it's going to be a huge pain in the ass even with the slip joints and band clamps. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to getting the exhaust apart without cutting and welding? Thanks

All these views and no replies. Does everyone just ignore it once they see I have an "old" mustang?

I went with an offroad H pipe on my 2011 mustang GT years ago then switched back to the stock catted setup within like 500 miles. I had stock headers though, on those cars the cats were part of the midpipe I believe.

You should just buy some high flow cats and have them welded in, although I am not sure how that would work or if that would affect tuning etc..

Kooks makes what they call a Green Catted Header...you might check into that and see if it's a viable solution to your situation.

I've already got all the parts, new O2 sensors, Stainless Works Cats, etc, just looking for tips on how to get it all apart because I'm sure it's gonna be a pain after all the heating and cooling, driving in rain, etc.

Any chance you can measure the length of the cat or the straight pipe behind the header? I am looking at getting some and I want to put a bullet resonator to quiet it down a bit. I know it doesn't help you, but since you have them out...
