Those cheap $55 cats won't work. Guarantee you will still get a CEL. Not to mention if they do a visual it would fail. Oh wait you live in Tn...maybe they don't do a visual.
Yeah where I live there is no emissions testing. Lucky me :crazy:

A replacement cat welded into the stock location is a approved repair and is the correct way to do it if you don’t want to purchase a complete manifold. It will pass smog and turn off the light as long as it’s a approved replacement cat. Also the serial numbers on the cat have to be visible for the smog technician to read so he can check to see if it is a approved replacement cat for that car

It's just the stinkin driver's side that is the one. Passenger side ez, just unbolt and rebolt with flange. I guess in theory you could do that to the driver's side too, just drop it down where can be welded. Trying to avoid going as "redneck" as possible :crackup:
Does it have long tubes on it?

Weld a flange on the oe cat and one on the manifold. Any component exhaust shop should be able too. Thats how you install the mak cat delete pipes.
