After 2 years of having the Whipple on my 15 , I have decided to go back to NA, keep the boltons and have a boss intake fitted.

Although the dyno numbers were great ~700whp on a mustangdyno. the thing that no one could get right was the tune , for some reason theres always something worng crankshaft sensor that caused the engine to suddenly shutoff , oil booster sensor running to rich etc...

If had six deferent tuners look at the problem, but couldn't figure a fix!

Anyone here went back from FI to Na. any remorse?

I would consider another manifold other than the Boss if you do indeed decide to go back to NA. GT350 gets my vote.

Did you ever take it to a dyno for a tune? Or were all 6 tuners providing remote tunes?

If 6 tuners can't resolve the issue, something other than the tune is the issue.

Agreed not the tune, and tuners are great at tuning but most are not very good at doing diagnostic performance work, and the ones that are most likley not help because if something goes wrong they will be reliable.I would take it too a GOOD install.shop and let them go over the whole install,as i really dont think its the tune.

First tune was done by Lund via data logging and was the least problematic, the later ones were dyno tuned at shop and had to get deferent tuners to look at it. and every time it seems that the issue has been resolved a new issues comes up!
The Whipple was removed for checking and no problems were found.

You mentioned there has been a string of issues.

What are the current problems with the car?

Either way clearly something is wrong with your car. It isn't the tuners. These people haven't tuned hundreds of car with very little issues and suddenly cant tune yours.

My vote is for the gt350 and rev it to 8k if you have OPG/CG. I did that before the Whipple and it is a GLORIOUS NA intake sound at 8000rpm. It just pulls and pulls up top. Damn I miss that a little :)

I'm right there with you on wanting a BOSS mani. I know it is far from being the best, and almost a lateral move from the stock intake as far as overall performance...but damn it is sex to look at. Plus, I'm not after getting ever ounce of power that I can from my car. When that day comes I'll throw a blower on it and the IM will matter that much less.

Was there ever a Whipple tune tried on the car? Was whipple involved at all in trying to solve the problems?
