Seems to me they should be buying property several miles inland if they care about their children.

Hello; Thank you so very much. Many times, in this "green energy-BEV mandate-climate change" discussion I and others have pointed out the cumulation of effects will be 50 to 100 years from now.
More to the point according to the more recent descriptions of previous years even if human emissions went to zero today the theories have been that "warming" is already built in ( locked in) for those 50 + years to come.
I do recall what i believe was one of your posts is that NASA intended to have another look at the older data on which these (locked in) event theories were based at least in part. I fully expect a revised edition which will say something like WE NOW THINK LOWER EMISSIONS WILL HAVE AN IMMEDIATE COOLING EFFECT. Perhaps not so clearly enunciated but a result less damaging to the agenda. Perhaps along the lines of how the hype around Covid and the vaccines was altered over time.

Just got off the phone with my mother. Her neighbor's, 3 houses away, house just burned to the ground. This person's ICE car was in the shop and they were given a BEV as a loaner. The BEV was not charging but was in the garage and burst into flames. The fire dept only sprayed water on surrounding homes to save water and to prevent multiple homes from burning.

I was not told what brand of BEV.

That is now 2 people close to me and or my family that lost a house to a BEV.

EV's sold over 10.1 million units last year globally, up 55% on the previous year. Total car sales 67 million globally.

Hello; We or at least I understand enough. I and likely most of us are not against a nicer environment. In fact, I have been doing what i can to have a smaller footprint for much of my 75 years.
Could be with enough time and lots of improvements the problems rampant with BEV's can be worked out. In fact, if the problems with "green" energy production might also be worked out, then the pollution from making the needed electricity could be reduced some.
That is if you do not look too closely at the secondary environmentally damaging problems with these things. We also have to turn a blind eye to the major producers of BEV and green energy bits and pieces such as China.
We consumers have to be forced into electric vehicles, electric stoves, heat pump water heaters and such to "save" the planet while China builds and puts into operation two or more coal fired power plants per month.
And now one of you champions has admitted it is all for future generations. My take on a generation is at least 20 years. Likely could be more in a practical sense. Could be less, maybe 14 years, if using a strictly biological time line, but my society frowns on starting a new generation at the earliest possible time. Point being generations means at least two. So 40 or more years?

Let's us pivot back to the how it is OK for folks today to be buying beachfront property. Surely you can do better than "Again, you’re misunderstanding it."
