Hello; Saw a report today saying that folks are having a harder time getting financing now. If so , this ought to cut into both ICE and BEV sales.

I was talking to a lady at my bank recently. She told me of a couple she knows who pay something over $1,100 a month car payment and that it for something like eight years. That was a big surprise to me.

What They Don’t Tell You About Driving Electric Cars In A Heatwave (msn.com)

“During the test, plenty of vehicles experienced prominent range declines with rising temperatures. Some of the car's range plundered up to 31 percent when the temperature rose above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.”

“Another important revelation found at the test demonstrates that Tesla vehicles get only 60 percent of their EPA range under normal conditions. Nevertheless, there are some ways to improve your Tesla's range.”

“According to Graig Less, technical director at the University of Michigan Battery Lab, once the temperature is above 104 degrees Fahrenheit, the passive emission layer on the anode breaks down and consumes the liquid electrolyte that shortens the lifetime of your battery.”

“However, he also thinks 104 degrees is not common in everyday driving conditions. In addition, EVs have a cooling system installed on their battery packs that act as passive cooling. So this protects the battery at higher temperatures. But, at the same time, also uses electricity to work, thus reducing range.”

Hello; Not clear to me if these findings are serious enough to become big problems for BEV owners who commonly have high temperatures during parts of the year. Of the items mentioned the bit about a battery pack consuming itself at temps above 104 F is perhaps more concerning. I do not get such temps often where I live but it has happened.

I‘ve been patiently waiting for someone to work out the the number of vehicles sitting unsold, tells us NOTHING about the popularity of the vehicle.
If I walk into a bakery and see that the racks are full, what does that tell me about sales? Nothing.

I mean, we could look at actual sales figures and stuff, but yeah sure, just run with whatever makes you feel good I suppose.….

If the bakery racks have been sitting full for 90 days with the same inventory, that tells me ‘sumptin’. 😆

Hello; Those in positions of control can mandate manufactures must sell BEV's and give them a deadline. To meet these artificial deadlines companies are forced to abandon ICE vehicle lines and start up BEV lines.
Those in control can punish ICE fuel companies thru the alphabet agencies. They can make punishing MPG and or emission rules.
They can take money from all our pockets to give incentives to buy BEV's.
They can pound on the gloom and doom with dire predictions for our future hoping fear will push folks to a BEV.

What they cannot do is make a BEV equal to an ICE. Many understand this, even those who could care less what sort of device makes their vehicle go from point A to point B. BEV's still cost more even with incentives.
BEV's can almost have the range of an average ICE if you are willing to buy one with extra large battery packs at an even greater expense.
BEV's plus the mining and other necessary electric generation are not all that much "cleaner" than the ICE systems already in place.

I can go on and will if needed, but my points are made. If the BEV's are indeed piling up on dealer lots and holding areas there will be reasons.

Lol, yes, that’s true but that isn’t what we’re talking about here.

Video of Li battery fires.

Some race tracks in the US are now banning EV's due to fire and track worker safety.

While Ducati are building EV bikes for a race series… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hello; Not sure how this race bike stuff refutes the fire hazard. Thing is some sort of decent solution needs to be found. When that solution is found you can mark one problem off the list of problems with a BEV.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/climate-change-warning-greenland-once-180039564.html

Well looks like 400,000 years ago Greenland was GREEN.

Of course the link has a doom and gloom slant but if it was green once it will be green again. With or without our help.
Hello; I like some of the comments. Interesting how the climate changes all on it's own.

What? It's happened before?

So all the claptrap about how this has never happened before is not disproven. Actually this same information was published a few years ago. It has been known to the Climate Alarmists all along. They lied because their whole game would be over when people learned that climate cycles from glaciation to warming then back to glaciation again.
The cycle is about 100,000 years, and was first explained about a century ago. It was done by a Serbian mathematician/scientist named Milutin Milankovitch who did all of the math by hand. NASA has redone the calculations and agrees with Milankovitch. Search for his name or for "NASA and the 100,000 year climate cycle" to learn about it.

For about 18,000 years earth has been in the warming part of the cycle. During that time thousands of feet of ice that once covered most of New York state has melted, sea level has risen about 500 feet, the Atlantic coastline has moved about 60 miles westward, and the human population rose from about 1,000,000 to today's 8,000,000,000, an 8,000 fold increase.

The big climate disaster awaiting humans is the next cooling phase. Meanwhile it is of importance to note that a population of 8 billion is not sustainable."

Bierman said, “400,000 years ago there were no cities on the coast ... and now there are cities on the coast.”
Wow, this guy is a genius."

Most of the "climate" champions are buying ocean front property. Obama bought on Martha's vineyard and in Hawaii.

Seems to me they should be buying property several miles inland if they care about their children.
