Hey

I'm planning on following the provided guide this weekend to start my Vortech install. I've been re-reading the install manual and noticed when it talks about removing the fuel rail (pg.49), swapping injectors and refitting that it says:

Locate the x4 OEM aluminium fuel rail spacers that are pressed in and pull them free with pliers. Replace with the shorter fuel rail spacers.

I don't remember seeing any supplied shorter spacers, I need to check, but I'm replacing OEM injectors with Ford Racing LU47 injectors. Would these not keep the standard spacers? I haven't gone for any massive 1000cc injectors.

I'm worried I might be missing some parts as I can't see "x4 fuel rail spacers" listed in the parts list for the supercharger?

It then goes on to say:

Secure the fuel rail with the provided x4 M6x90mm and M6 washers.

Again, I can't see these listed in the parts list for the supercharger. Wouldn't I just re-use the original screws/bolts?

Thanks!!

I did a paxton kit with the same steps. It should have come with fuel rail spacers. They look like aluminum cylinders and your manifold has some in it now. The new injectors should be a lot shorter than the stock ones and you will need those spacers if they left them out of your kit. So you will need shorter bolts than the stock ones as well. But you can pull the injectors out or try to compare the sizes while they are still in and see if they are the same height.

They might have changed the part and never updated the instructions. My paxton instructions had some differences and they did not update it.

Also my injector spacers did not want to come out at all. I would try PB blaster on them if they seem stuck. And If they are still not coming off, it is super easy to pound them out from the bottom if you take the whole intake manifold off. I'd personally put some anti seize or something on the new ones, because mine keep getting stuck

Here is a pic of my stock 2015 injectors and the ones that came with my Paxton kit. That spacer on the right is the stock one (the shorter one is on my car now).

See if there is a big size difference in yours. Also they might have given you a spacer for the actual injectors themselves to make them as tall as the stock ones, but I haven't seen that yet from them

If the new injectors are the same size (and if they are in fact the correct injectors you are supposed to get with the kit) then you can keep the stock spacers

Thanks so much. Oh god I definitely don't remember seeing anything like those. I do hope the lu47 injectors are perhaps the same size hence their omission from the kit. I've emailed beefcake see if they can confirm. 😟

Omg panic over. Beefcake found my order info and said to disregard that part about removing spacers.

The relief.

I need a lie down now. 😁

Beefcake is top notch. They have helped me step back from a cliff a couple of times on this Whipple install.

That's great to hear. They have been amazing. And no issues with me being in UK either. Genuinely seem to care, which is awesome. 👍
