Just want to give everyone lowering there car a heads up. My car is lowered 1.5 inches all around. Ive had a terrible time trying to get anyone to align it. Tried a Ford dealer who used to be a Roush dealer. They wouldnt even look at it since they said it wont get on the rack. Found a small shop that claimed to have a low profile lift and thought everything was all good. I get the car there this morning and they say they cant get it on the alignment rack :frusty:. Luckily they recommnded a local CHEVY dealer since they have a low rack for corvettes. Kinda crazy I need to bring my mustang to a Chevy dealer to get service!

Anyway, just wanted to post to make others aware what issues they might have when lowering the car.

Just an FYI, Roush coilovers lower the front of the car the same as mine (1.5). So dont be suprised if even roush vehicles cannot be aligned by roush dealers!

I'm on Eibach Sportlines and I had some issues finding a place to get it done, but the local Ford dealer ended up being able to get it on their rack. Once they got it on they had an issue getting it to clear over the Ford Racing transmission cooler scoop I have installed, but a couple blocks of wood fixed that.

I can't imagine what is that low they can't get it on the rack. What would hit? My Steeda progressive springs lower the front 1.125" and the rear 1" and I haven't had a problem anywhere. Matter of fact, I thought it was kind of mild, I go over speed bumps without thinking about it.

The front bumper usually.

FWIW, this isn't anything new. My 2009 on Ground Control Coilovers had to go to the Dodge dealership in town to get alignments because they were the only people who had even a remote idea of what to do. I guess being the service shop for their own Viper ACR Race Team probably helps that some... and that I knew the guy who does said alignments on said ACR's and I knew he could also corner balance the car...

Local service shop has an alignment rack that was a non-issue to get the car onto and the alignment tech was willing to listen to how to adjust the camber.

Front bumper? I even have the Cervinis chin spoiler and don't have issues.

My 2009 wouldn't go on a standard rack because the ramps were too steep and my stock height 2015 sits barely tall enough to get the standard 2 post lift forks under the sides at the local shop. It goes on the rack fine but the front PP splitter is very close. The 2009 had coilovers and was dropped 2.25" in the front and 2.5" in the rear via a combination of ride height adjustment from the coilovers and shorter springs. None of which seemed to help.

dude im in the same boat as always shops are clueless and never want to align my modified cars even when i advise them on specs they just dont want to do it. i even showed them the OEM PP alignment settings last year and they still refused to put Zero front toe in the car as Ford suggested. i wish i owned my own alignment rack its been this way always in NY. getting my cars on the machine isnt that big of a deal but of course everyone in these shops makes it a huge deal. so annoying. i need an alignment now and its been 6 weeks because i can not find anyone willing to do it.

Is this your guy's first low cars? Alignment shops always will turn people away at first glance because it's not an easy alignment like everything else that rolls in. Either go to a specific aftermarket shop that happens to have a rack.

OR

Do what most low low guys do, and bring wood around with you in your trunk to ramp yourself onto the rack easily.

Oh no! Who would have thought shops would refuse service on a lowered car without even actually seeing if it will clear the ramp...

This is nothing new OP

Pull the front bumper before going... or lesrn to do the alignment yourself at home.

the issue i have is never getting the car on the rack as most shops i ever use do low Porsche BMW and other euro cars. the issue is i cant turn the wrenches myself and make them do what i want they resist because their mentality is LAZY and they rather bang our front wheel drive toe jobs all day long. they just set toe in and never touch camber or even check the steering wheel and when your not happy they say ok come back next week etc. total waste of time.
