My car with another set of wheels. Enkei TY-5 in Pearl Black. (Mirror cut faces, then tinted clear topcoat.)

Hey, I know that car! My mom still lives in your neighborhood. It's where my family moved when I was in high school; I ended up at HSE (I wound up in the final class before the split). I'd always drive down your street when I'd visit her to see if you had your garage open so I could see your car... and the yellow one before this one!

Not a slight to your silver wheels but these wheels look much better on your car. I prefer the contrast of dark wheels with lighter colored cars but that’s just me

I have someone that offers doing it for $179, which is why I was considering this. Then again, I have a powder coating company that will do everything for $425, which is pretty phenomenal pricing.
Did you talk to the guys at Crown Customs in Wheeling? They do paint and powder coating. I personally would go with paint due to the amount of heat applied to the wheels for powder coating process.

Or you could buy a second set in a darker color and just swap them in and out if you want to go lighter or darker at any given time.

Black wheels that are blacker than the tires are hard for me to get along with. Makes tires look dirty even when they are clean. If you need black to tie it all together, maybe some black wheels with a hint of silver/machined surface around the lip?

No offense taken. :)

The counterpoint some make against black wheels on light colors is that the contrast makes it look like there are just big black holes in the side of the car.

I ran those black wheels since 2016, first on my yellow stang, and then on my orange one. When the tires wore out, I bought a set of never-used take-off wheels with A/S tires for daily. They are the OEM "dark stainless" (?), and I like them a little better. Though I still like the pearl black too.

The photo of my car with silver wheels is with my O.Z track wheels.

I guess the light colors can go either way - black or silver.

How do you compare Raleigh with Fishers?

I know what you mean! I ordered my car back in October and immediately started looking at wheels. Took delivery in February thinking I'd made up my mind on the wheels I'd be buying.... guess who still doesn't have new wheels as we get ready to enter July!
I shopped wheels for 9 months before buying. There are a lot of factors to consider - mainly style, fitment, expense, and even tire options.

I'll have to take you up on that whenever I'm back up there visiting.
Fishers and Raleigh, hmmm... well, so far I think the weather and seafood out here are way nicer lol. I grew up in MD, outside DC, so being near good, fresh seafood again is great. Aside from that, there are plenty more trees and hills, which I love both aspects. It's pretty wild driving down here just how green it gets in NC. I can usually tell when I've entered the state by how vibrant the trees are before I even see any signs. Of course, with all the hills, the incline starts put all the practice my dad made me do as a teenager to good use out here. (I wont be stalling or rolling into anyone even without hill start assist on! Lol) Raleigh's interesting because some parts have a lot of older buildings that still maintain the styling from pre-1776 days, while other spots are growing and have a more modern feel. I actually really like the combo. But, it did make for a bit of a challenge trying to find a house with a garage, much less a 2-car garage. It's also really nice being only a few hours from the mountains or the beach in either direction. Probably most importantly, though, less likelihood of snow equals more days to drive the Mustang and way fewer potholes to dodge out here!

I've definitely been learning! I think finding tires to pair with any of the wheels I've considered is probably the biggest challenge I've faced with the whole thing. But, I do think I've finally settled on the wheels I want recently....they're out of stock currently, though 🤦‍♂️. I'm planning to go with the anthracite Apex EC-7. I think they'll pair really well with the Mischievous Purple.

If you have any inclination to track your car, then that becomes a big factor in wheel choice. I run street set and track set, both square setups. But if I had to do it over, I'd go 10" wide square for track (at least).
I wish GT's had wider front track by way of 3/4" wider front fenders and then there wouldn't be so much difficulty fitting wider wheels up front.

I'd love to one day. But, probably not until I have another car I can rely on once things start breaking. Until then, anything I'd do for now will be every now and then, just to get my feet wet, nothing crazy. 10" squared is what I've been thinking for my daily driving, though.

There are ways around that, of course. You're already rocking the stripes, you could always go for a GT350...Or if you're feeling really wild, you could add something like the RTR wide body flares to your GT lol.

That's what I don't like about the black wheels on my white Mustang. Just big black holes, and it looks like truck tires/wheels to me. I had rimblades on them for some separation but the tire shop destroyed them putting the new tires on. I think that I am going to clean up the edge and then paint the silver on them this summer.

That's why I'm really leaning to a charcoal / anthracite color for my convertible. The black looks decent, but just something is off where I think a grey would look better. Really contemplating tech 7s I found used for $700.
