GTs are supposed to be limited to 155 mph, and Bullitts to 163. So EU ones are now at 173? Interesting. And is that 2020s? If 2019s, starting with which build date? I think 260 kph (161 mph) is more than enough. Are the US models limited to that? Thx.

It's a function of speedometer overreporting.

The EU Bullitts are limited to 263 kmh (163 mph) as an actual speed (via GPS or timing), but the speedometer shows 273kmh at that point. The change was to get the speed limiter on the EU Bullitts raised to the same point as the US Bullitts.

Thanks. So that means US Bullitts go to 173 indicated? I was under the impression they don't, based on how quickly dyno charts cut off well before redline in 4th. If the limiter was set at 173 indicated, the Bullitt would hit redline in 4th for sure, and 3.55 cars almost. But they cut in well below 7K rpm. So something doesn't add up.

This... unless there is/was an update for the US Bullitt as well, all the dyno I have seen online couldn't reach the rpm limiter in 4th gear (the speed limiter kick in before).

Did hwy 36 here in ca. 140 mi and almost 2000 corners. An amazing road. They didnt grade or flatten the conture. A favorate for sport bikes...miatas...sports cars.....bullitts. used 3rd gear mostly. It is a huge gear. Could have used 2nd more but didnt really need to. Some times 4th to cruise.
All the way from Susanville to the coast ?
That is on my bucket list if this f'n COVID-19 finally goes away.

It would depend on whether there is a different speedometer calibration for EU cars as opposed to US. There are notable ways for car manufacturers to be liable for fines if the speedometer reports a lower speed than actual in the EU. As a result, there tends to be a +/- 5% or so fudge factor in the displayed speed for cars there.

My car is good to within 1% of the actual speed on stock wheels and tires, so I would suspect that there are two calibrations.

Link to EU speedometer regs below. Note section 5.3, which allows the speedometer to read high by up to (10% + 4 kmh), but does not allow it to read low at all.
