Nothing changed in the suspension from other high-trim Mustangs AFAIK, so it must still be prone to it.
I see. It sure would be nice if FORD listened carefully to ALL feedback/requests from Mustang enthusiasts and offered specific packages which contain very robust parts for the all out racers (track and drag) and a standard package (with a sport luxury comfort level if you will), for those, who don’t intend to push the car hard. Believe me, people will pay for such a vehicle without thinking twice about it.

First is really not that bad...perfect for stop and go traffic. Much better on the clutch.

Gears and installation were $1,579.30, not including the $641.95 Steeda tune. So all said and done, $2,221.25.

Starting in second isn't a problem, but I still usually start in 1st. The transmission is so incredibly high geared that even now 1st isn't too low...it's just right in my opinion.
I would love to hear how your car runs in the 1/4 mile with the 4:88 gearing on sticky tires. I could possibly be open to doing this mod down the line if the gains were proven to be big enough.

I'm curious what everyone's opinion is on this. With the long gearing of the MT82 6 speed, is there any middle ground with the gearing (i.e. between the current 3:73's and 4:88's) like using 4:09's.

There is a thread on just that. The most common option.

Here are a few things to know. First gear in the mt-82d4 which is in your Bullitt, to equal the first gear in the 2017 Mustang GT manual transmission which is the mt82, you would need a 4.21 rear axle ratio to have the same exact overall gear ratio.

Since I'm purchasing a Mach one I've already gone through this in my mind. I would use 456 gears as many people that have put 409s in said they weren't big enough. Especially since the mt82d4 has to overdrive gears. I also figured out a way to fix the issue from others that have posted in the past. You can use Forscan to go in and figure out the equivalent tire ratio that would equal that gear ratio. I did a thread on this about a week ago. That's going to be the route I go on the Mach 1.

It works perfectly as I practiced on my 2016 GT. It's also not an aftermarket tune which could cause issues if you have a warranty claim. I'm planning on just swapping torsen differentials so that I can always switch back to the stock setup should I sell the car or need serious warranty driveline work.

I'd like a nice 4.30 option.
I had that exact gear in my 427 Galaxie. You are exactly right it's the perfect gear. It was also a gear that was available and drag packs from Ford in the late 60s.

One of the reasons I was interested in the 4:09 is that the stock program would be able to auto adjust for that (keep me honest here). If going with even shorter gears, those were not officially supported by Ford.

Thats not true as of 2019. 2019+ need a tune.

Again. You can fool the CPU by changing the tire ratio.

Not on the 19 up. There are a few threads on it

Even in the earlier years there are hard limits in the PCM as far as what ratio range it will allow.

You don't change the gear ratio. You change the tire size.
