They talk about the A10 (especially at the end with an actual GT owner). It takes several thousand miles, so keep your eye on this issue:

Well that’s interesting. The imrc function much like butterfly valves in the runner near the head. I could see where “flapping” could make some noise.

So far it’s been imrc, hpfp, injectors, ignition timing, cam phasers, rod bearings, piston scorings, piston clearance, belt tensioner, etc. Are these just complicated engines with lots of moving parts that make lots of different noises?
LOL, you forgot wrist pins and valve float... Seriously, I'd like to know what failed to cause the imrc plates to start "flapping".

Interesting about the intake as I saw a video talking about pre18/19's without the tick putting on an 18/19 intake and subsequently having the tick, only to replace the original intake and the tick was gone. I can't seem to find that video.

That video was by down south racing, I couldn't find it either. You would think that there would be a miss fire code or cel if the imrc was malfunctioning.

Yes that's the video but I don't buy the explanation, there is no way an imrc runner control would cause a ticking from the oil pan / bottom end.

At least that thumbnail has the car on the back of a flatbed but only one arrow. The car should be outlined in white and there should be multiple arrows pointing to it as well.

Yup, same video. My '18 does not have the tick, so who knows. Still interesting though that Ford is blaming/replacing the intake for the same ticking noise.

If anyone has an intake with IMRC'S locked out and still has the ticking that throws that theory out the window.

I was thinking the same thing but I wasn't sure if the 3rd gen coyote guys were locking them out. I suppose one could argue that if it was as simple as that, Ford would be doing this instead of dropping in new motors.

Can’t someone with a 2018/19 just temporarily disable the IMRC’s?

IMRC malfunction is not going to cause cylinder scoring.

I have done so and the slap/tap was highly reduced on mine which was coming from the valve-area. However the typewriter tick remains...

I have not driven with the IMRC disconnected though

I am in for a swap of the manifold next week. I have asked them to perform a bore scope(on the new motor as well) while they are at it

I don’t think folks are discussing the IMRCs as being cause to cylinder scoring - it’s trying to determine the noise or sounds everyone is complaining about by process of elimination.
