First time installing a boost gauge. I've been doing some searching and can't solve my problem. Almost done but
can't figure out which way the tap goes in the #36 slot.(top right) Found these conflicting pics. I don't have a Multimeter.(yet) Anybody installed a Tap in the #36 Slot? Which pic is correct or am I missing something? Or could the Taps be different?
Thx.

If I understand your question correctly: "Should the fuses face upward or downward?"

It makes no difference - if the tap seats into the fuse slot, up or down works either way. Let me know if I'm missing something.

I just used 36 for powering my electric water pump. From my testing 36 is the only Key on power in that fuze box. Orientation doesnt matter.

Orientation of the tap is key!

Take a pass tester so you can determine how the tap works.
Usually the side with the wire is the part of the tap that has to go to the cold side of the fuse location.
Measure which side of the fuse location is the hot side beforehand.

That is my problem I have no way test which side is hot.
Kind of illiterate when it comes to electronics. I'm hoping that someone recognizes the orientation from the pics. It looks like one pic is right and one is wrong. So which is it, anybody? I mean someone here has tapped in this slot before.
I'll keep doing my search meanwhile.

One side is hot the other cold.
The Fuse tap has to be in the correct position to make sure the fuse tangs are in the correct slot.I think if you have it backwards you get power thru both fuses at the same time instead of just one.
I need a Multimeter to test and and I don't one nor know how to use it.
Guess I'll have to learn.

From what I 'm reading orientation does matter.
I need to know which way guys have been plugging the Fuse Tap in the slots.

I stand corrected. I just tested it and the left side of the fuze (if you are looking at it) is the hot side. I have mine flipped 180 from the the photo you sent and mine works. for Fuze 36

I posted two photos. Do you think you can take a pic or be more specific in which photo is the correct one?
Much appreciated.

Any reason why you didn't use 23?
But anyhow thx for clearing that up for me
Now to find out if Ford was actually consitant and put all the slots in the same orientation.

I just came across these other pics. One in one way and the other opposite. But in the third pic the guy was tapped into 23 it looks like backwards and was having all sorts of problems with his power windows(23) malfunctioning.
So I will use slot #36 and should be be in the correct orientation.
