Funny reaction to my car

I went to a Craigslist seller's house for a purchase and after we were done, went outside to the front where I was parked. He turns the corner and exclaims sort of loudly "OMG!" Now, I didn't know what was going on. Rattlesnake? Falling plane? Spooked me a bit and was looking around "What? WHAT?"!
He then says "Your car looks really wicked!" He laughs when I tell him what I was thinking and proceeds to ask a few questions about what I've done to it.
Its the best reaction I've had, so far!

In the last 30+ years of driving everything from an old Trans-Am, Corvette Z06, RX-7, Miata a 2013 Mustang GT a 2015 Mustang GT and a 2016 Mustang GT, the only car I EVER got a compliment on was my Sterling gray 13.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong here fellas....

EDIT: I ride motorcycles too. I have a Victory Vegas and a VFR. No one has ever said Boo to me about either of them. Now the Missus... She has an Indian Scout Bobber and boy you should see the heads turn when she goes by on that thing...

When I got my oil changed Saturday I was chatting up one of the salesman about how much they offered for my car and I told him that I was going to keep it because it is Need For Green.

He goes "What is that?" The knowledge runs deep at that dealer.

The best reaction I've had was the other day.. A C7 Stingray tried to give it a go from about 10mph up to 80... I waxed his ass by a few cars and lo and behold he follows us into the parking lot of a restaurant to chat. I get out of the car and then my wife, 2 kids, and a full size adult get out of the backseat.. The look on his face when he realized 5 people just got out of a Mustang was priceless. Guess he didn't think a clown car was going to dust him

The best reaction I've had was the other day.. A C7 Stingray tried to give it a go from about 10mph up to 80... I waxed his ass by a few cars and lo and behold he follows us into the parking lot of a restaurant to chat. I get out of the car and then my wife, 2 kids, and a full size adult get out of the backseat.. The look on his face when he realized 5 people just got out of a Mustang was priceless. Guess he didn't think a clown car was going to dust him

My wife has had multiple positive reactions from people driving this car, and she doesn't like the attention (had to put 1000 miles on it the first week for break-in because a track-day was coming up - my wife did a majority of them). It doesn't bother me one way or another. I've only had it for a few months, and I've had more comments driving this than all of my other cars combined. It's incredibly odd because I've had some nice-looking rides (all modified tastefully).
Apparently, there is just a lot of Mustang fans out there.

I've found that non car people love Mustangs. Everyone seems to have an experience or story with one that they remember fondly. Probably reminds them of a time when life was more fun and they had less responsibility. I've been getting a lot of compliments lately and it feels pretty nice.

They take awhile if you order custom but I have the same rims. They did a nice job matching NFG. Car gets a *ridiculous* number of comments. Had the same rims refinished from Gloss Black, Blue to green when I traded the first car. They charged $1000 total to ship my rims back to them and refinish them. Included boxes and everything.

I had many comments about 13 Laguna Seca but I think I get even more with my 19 PP2. Last time I was at the track people were commenting about my car. I told them it looks even better with the stock wheels on it (track wheels are LMR/SVE GT350 clones) .
