Full throttle pull and POP... no more go???

I was driving home from work, just got my new 555r’s on the car and decided to open it up car downshifted into second was making about 10lbs of boost tires spun just a little and then boom!!! Car stops pulling. I coast to a stop and I have no forward or reverse only grinding noise. Towed home the car figured I busted the intermediate shaft. Took trans out and tore down to find nothing in the pan and no internal damage. Only thing that didn’t sound right is torque converter has some loose metal inside. Did some research and found very little about the converters tearing up. Any one heard of this issue?

Yup u broke the sprag in the torque convertor,alot of times if u shake the convertor u can hear the parts rattling around in their.Mine did the same thing except my convertor was locked and car kept stalling out.Actually happens quite a bit with stock convertors and boost.

Converter is gone. Downshift the car first and then hit the gas...

I lost my converter too, at only ~650whp. Hit a bump at WOT mid shift and sent RPMs flying like the car was free revving in neutral. Coasted to a stop and car died when putting it into D or R.

My circle d converter (3b) actually showed up the same day this happened. Haven’t heard much about the converters having issues. I guess an intermediate shaft and clutches are going in as well since it’s out and apart. Anything else that is needed at the 900ish wheel horsepower range?

I wound consider a billet planetary. Pricey piece but around 800+ it should be given some thought.

I've had four 6R80 failures but one of them was my planetary. at 800whp or less.
