Fuel Injector cleaner/testing machine

Anyone here ever use one of THESE little machines?... Just wondering if I should invest in one rather than pay Injector Dynamics multiple times for cleanings, since the machine costs about the same as 1 cleaning w/shipping back and forth.

it can’t hurt to try one. I was thinking the same thing myself, but I’m a long ways away from needing one (gotta tear down, build and get back up and running before I need one).

I do have the kind where I hook up to the fuel rail and clean the injectors though, but the kind you’re talking about shows flow data if I’m not mistaken.

Yea, I think I might just try it, worst case I can return it, if it sucks. I think I have a leaking or dirty injector due to hard starting when cold and losing fuel pressure rapidly when shutting the car off, and now that I parked the car in the garage for winter and switched back to 93 for storage, I can really smell gas fumes bad, especially on the passenger side of the motor.

When you used Injector Dynamics, did they provide a flow sheet with your injectors on the return trip?

I was just looking at this one Autool Ultrasonic.

I have not used Injector Dynamics yet, I was planning too, but for the $250 for cleaning/shipping, figured I could just scoop one of these machines up and do it myself, especially if I'm going to be sending these injectors out once a year or two for cleaning... save myself a bunch of bucks.

You want a big one like that where you can test the injectors after. If you can't test them how do you know you cleaned them?

That's what I'm saying, It tests and cleans them... I would test, clean and test again. Just curious if anyone here has used one of these and if its worth the trouble.

I'm looking at buying the same machine. I want to check how closely balanced injectors are. And possibly test the difference in flow between 93 and E85.

I actually ended up ordering the MR CARTOOL v209. Just got here yesterday, so when I get time to pull the injectors and do everything I will try it out.. might be this weekend, might be in 2 months, we will see lol... car is down all winter anyway.

No problem, I hope I remember, I always plan to record stuff and get caught up in what I'm doing and forget, lol.... I will film the before test, the cleaning process and after cleaning test.

I got a scantool to test my direct injectors as well, so if I need to clean those as well, I will record that too.
