I've watched some videos, but now I'm looking for some feedback. How hard is it for a garage mechanic to get that front sway bar out, and get a new one in? I do have a QuickJack lift, but not something that'll get the car more than a couple of feet off the ground.

I'm seriously considering front/rear sway bars and new sway bar endlinks, but want to know if I'm biting off more than I can chew. Rear sway bar looks very easy to swap out, the front not so much.

Thanks,

I did mine myself, both front and back. So a mechanic should EASILY be able to install it.The front was a little tricky but jacked it up, took both front tires off, removed the stock sway bar out the driver's side, installed the thicker sway through the driver's side. Had the wife reach through the passenger side to help guide it as I pushed it through.

It just takes some patience, you’ll get it. I removed the airbox to get to the driver side mount bolts. Other than that, just take your time. Another person, as mentioned above, to help guide it from the other side would be helpful, but not necessary

Did mine alone on jackstands. Front wheels off, air box out. I fished out the old sway bar from the driver's side. To install the passenger side I needed several long ratchet extensions to reach down to the two bracket bolts from above the engine compartment. Also be careful threading in the new bolts, I think I cross-threaded one of them.

I had my Ford dealer install the PP front sway bar for $200.

A buddy and myself did the rear one-much easier.

I had a pretty tough time taking the PP front swaybar out on jackstands with a friend’s help. My other friend did the same and said he thought the job was really easy. The drama I ran into was not having the car quite high enough off the ground to get the right angle to get it free and the fact that the PP bar’s bushings come out with the bar. I figure a base front bar would be easier.

The rear is very quick to swap.

How long does it take to replace the front sway bar?

Thanks

Are you missing Germany yet?
Bitte schön, und ja absolut. I miss Bavaria bad...not just because it was ok to drink beer at breakfast, but the feel of the place was unmatched. Of course, driving the autobahns still fills my dreams too. You leave yet or still over there?
