2020 PP eco boost convertible w/6K. Drivers front suspension started popping when at full lock. Could feel it in the steering wheel like it was skipping. New strut mount replaced Dec 2023 under warranty and SSM 50672 at 5,965K. 6 months later sound is back. Dealer replaced both strut mounts and did an alignment even though the tech said it was not necessary and I insisted at 6,191K. Now a week later the noise is back. What the heck can be going on ? Improper installation ? Do I have any recourse after 2 failed repairs ? I can confirm it feels just fine leaving the dealership.

Replaced strut mount or strut bearing? Regardless at that low milage there shouldn't be any issues. Still on warranty? Oversized wheels?

Factory wheels. Work done under factory warranty but that has now expired. Second fix under parts warranty but also have ESP premium.
Replaced JR3Z 3A197 C Mounting assy and FR3Z 5A306 A Spring seat.

Take it back. Could be reassembly issue. Most of the time its strut bearing or incorrect spring seat.

After some of the experience I've had with my dealer I'm wondering if they actually changed the strut or just did something to it, to get by.

At what exterior temp are you experiencing the popping at full lock?

The reason for the ask is Summer Only tires will create an actual pop sensation at full lock when backing up or pulling into a lot, garage, parking space, etc. because the rubber is dragging across the pavement creating friction. The tires go rock solid at temps 45* or less. It shouldn’t be an issue if temps in your area are higher or “summer”.

The other areas the tech should be checking:
Ball joints
Control arms
Steering rack

If they already replaced the struts and upper strut mounts, I agree it could be a reassembly issue as mentioned above.

As far as any recourse if you’re not happy with the repair results, in your owner’s manual and a thread I posted on here a while back is the Ford 800 #. Call it, ask to speak to a Regional Rep. and state you want to open a case RE: your dissatisfaction and the issue still persists after the repair attempts.
