I've always thought that clunk was upper strut mounts. Mine does it a little bit as well.

The center of the strut hat is steel. If loose any at all it will make a loud thud over certain bumps. That same sound can come from the sway bar end links. Even if they don't look loose they might be just enough. The only way to get the strut hat nut tight is to bump it a couple times with the impact wrench as I described above.Interesting; aren't they rubber, they should not sound like that ? I'll have to have a look...
It’s priceless finding a good mechanic! When we bought our 2016 GT Convertible in sept of 21 I noticed a slight clunk coming from the right front. That winter when the car was parked I replaced both sway bar links. I was very dissappointed in the spring on the first drive I noticed the cluck was still there...maybe not as loud. This past summer the dealership (not Ford) I shuttle cars for hired a new young tech. I noticed he was very fussy and meticulous. I got him to have a look at it...and with in 5 mins he said have a look at this. The right front lower lower control arm had very slight movement in it. The Ford dealer next door had one in stock and an hour later I was on the road clunk free. Feels like a new car. The new guy is my "go to Guy" now.
