Trailer Length

Can anyone tell me what the minimum trailer length needs to be in oder to tow the GT350? I am in the process of purchasing one and want to keep it as short as possible. Thanks

The car is 15.6' long and the wheelbase is 8.9'. You can fit it on a 16' though it would be tight. I think an 18' is ideal if you're not carrying anything else.

Here's a picture of my 20' trailer. I needed space for tires, toolbox and fuel jugs.

At a minimum I'd recommend an 18' foot open or 20' enclosed.

Do you have any problems with opening the doors without hitting the trailer fenders?
I'm also looking to buy a new trailer for my gt350.

No matter what, don't hesitate while loading your car!

Sigh. Loading a car into a moving truck.

Yes, the fenders are removable though. I think the measured clearance to the door is 7.5 inches. My trailer fenders were 9 inches tall.

Has anyone used a tilt trailer for their 350 or other mustangs? I have access to one but wanted to know if it was a better option then say renting from uhaul or something. Dimensionals I know are good, just wasnt sure on the tilt feature helping or hurting with low clearance. Thoughts?

I almost bought a tilt bed trailer but didn't have my car at the time. If the angle is less the 5 degrees I think you'll be ok, or you could lay planks under the rear of the trailer before tilting it that are about 8-10' long so it gives a bit more room if needed.

It might be a better option than a uhaul, but most tilt trailers have high approach angles. They are also less ramp friendly.

Just watch the Uhaul trailer bed. The ones I seen that a lip on the inner trailer floor runner that may snag the lower bumper.

Thanks guys. I think I may go the tilt trailer route and try to find the best way to improve the approach angle.

Now I just need the car to be built!

I'll document what I do as I'm assuming somewhere down the road it might help someone out.
