We need to see a one make F1 drivers race again like the Mercedes one they did when Senna was a youth and showed how good he was going to be.

I’d really like to know why he got fired or did he exit? Nothing I’ve read so far leads me to believe he left on his own accord.

He may have left in an Acord. Remember, Red Bull is powered by Honda.

My 2 cents, The power struggles/war in RB came to a head and the winners were not team Horner. I personally think it's a mistake. Horner took a "drinks company" to 4 straight driver and team championships, had a small lull then 4* driver (sorry 3 just to get under SK47 skin 1 was gifted by FIA :cwl:) an 2 team championships. really 8 driver and 6 team championships all under his watch. He was responsible for everything, Newey, Max, Vettel all of it. Somewhere this power struggle wanted to go different directions, and the team started breaking up. While I wouldn't want to have drinks with Christian if I was going to buy a F1 team he for sure would be at the top of the list to head it. I think with the new engine, new cars, new principle soon you'll have RB running around back end of the field and then out. I'd say 5-7 years top before we get RB is selling the team.

Now id love for Horner to head to Ferrari hahaha,

My buddies and I were talking about this this morning. I think you're spot on. Our train of thought was very much the same, this stuff all started after D's passing. Max's Dad has been a major issue and clearly has run around dropping little land mines where ever he could. We'll see what happens to Max. I honestly think at this point he's pretty much at peace where he's at in his racing career and wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him walk away at an earlier point. For sure not his Dad's path for his son. I'll go a step further and state Redbull as a Team without Horner is ....'ed. It'll have a big negative on their fan base as well. No way around it. There'll no doubt be some fireworks coming out in the next few weeks. I'm a RB fan but would say the same thing if Totto was gone from Merc as well. I don't give Brown the respect I do to either Totto or Horner. Stroll is up there to. It hasn't been mentioned but Horner was part owner so some where in there there's a .... ton of money about to change hands as well.

Hello; Horner led the teams to all these things as you list. However, this is a what have you done for me lately sort of world. I see such much too often with UT sports. (Tennessee)
My second guess is maybe someone was messing with someone's wife.

EDIT- I had forgotten about the sexting scandal when I made the above joke.

He's moving to one of the teams his former colleagues went to. Dieter is dead and so is red bull since critical dept leadership departed. A typical executive management transition failure likely trying to micro manage Horner. Not to mention the failed female likely paid millions to accuse him to disrupt red bull.

Typical f1 dirty tricks and ladies wonder why no one will hire them unless they agree to full surveillance or are 300lb.

Horner's farewell to RB.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2025/jul/10/christian-horner-red-bull-f1-sacking-farewell-speech

Ideas on why the sacking now.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/articles/ceq7z05ype7o

No surprises.

- Internal drama
- 2nd driver underperformance
- Key talent exits

Sky's article is not much different.

Whatever the dynamics, RB is attempting to hold onto MV.

I continue to believe Marko needs to exit, to smooth things out and make a clean transition towards the future. He just seems like a meddler to me. A positive influence? Err, not so much. YMMV.

Best Wishes to all those involved. Less drama and disruption. More focus on racing and winning.

Make no mistake, the drama is just starting. RB releasing his farewell speech was a pathetic pr attempt. I do agree about Marko. This sacking wasn’t well thought out. It’s no surprise why they’re keeping Horner on the payroll. Think Newey got a good dose of this last year and bailed. RB is for sure trying to limit where he(Horner) may end up if he choses and what he says. I’d be surprised if Stroll hasn’t reached out to Horner, not implying Aston’s Principal is doing a bad job, but lets be honest here. What will make this whole thing worse is if it comes out if Jos and Max were involved. We’ll see if what RB has to pay Horner for his percentage of the team becomes a mess as well. The other thing is who goes out the door to, can’t imagine key people feeling very secure now. There were 2-3 others at the top that have jumped ship as well. It’ll hurt the fan base as well. It’s actually pretty comical, but not ha ha, how bad this was done.

Maybe the Ford RB powerplants are looking like crap and leaders are bolting. Usually colleagues depart and bring their other colleagues with them reconstituting the winning group of people to win again under different flag.

Wonder who's on the BoD at RB calling the shots now they DM no longer around...

The Thailand ownership sold 2% of the team to a third party financial organization. That left them with 49% and the Austrian ownership with 49%. So no majority. Interesting.

That may be correct, I’ve seen in reported both ways. I was basing it on when D was alive and there arrangement. That could be incorrect though.

My understanding is that Horner was, unlike Toto, just an employee. He has no financial stake in RedBull.

Jos Verstappen is a pos, and will be the downfall of his son. We’ll see if Max actually becomes his own man completely in the very near future. Talk about a stark example difference between Max’s father and Lewis’s. Like Horner or not, there isn’t a more successful Team Principal. The irony here is those that have never created and established anything are usually the same that think watching someone that’s very good at what they do is easily duplicateable.

Thoughts?
