So I realize that you guys do not LIKE Sulayem, but haven't the actual numbers across the board been at record levels since he was in charge?

Hello; i was vaguely aware of the change of leadership in f1 a few years ago. I was not aware of Sulayem in much of any way. Criticisms of the races I have posted have been about what I see on race weekends. If he is responsible for changes which have worsened the events then I should be counted among those who dislike the person.
Among the more irritating aspects for me are the race announcers I have to endure. Does not change the race in any way but they are an annoyance.
I do not know of the numbers you mention. Perhaps the viewership #'s are up???

The board cares about the money, while we care about the sport. Two different things.
Dumbing down the sport to bring in more money is bound to make stockholders happy and us unhappy.

I won’t even get started on the screamer or the rest of the clowns on Sky sports.

Tsunoda should not be a Red Bull driver…. He has failed too many times.

When they moved him I was of the same mindset. Not saying he should be now, but I think his immaturity has bitten him again and his convidence is hurt‘n. Like him or not, the other drivers pretty much all state how Max is on another level. That’s an unwinnable situation for any driver. The question is if he can recover and move forward and make progress. He knows how to drive without a doubt.

Hello; Tsunoda has a number of problems much the same as all F1 drivers do. He has some extra pressures being on the Red Bull primary team and being in the same car as Max. Most drivers essentially compete with their teammate first and the field next. They all want to win races to be sure but matching or beating a teammate gets them into a comfort zone of sorts.

I do not know if the hype about Max is correct. That being he is so much better of a driver than the rest. Does appear to be true on the face of results. On top of the Max pressure is that the Red Bull has been fielding a championship winning car the last few years.

I have nurtured a theory for some time that the car is more important than the driver. That there are twenty or so good enough drivers on hand and most any one of them can win in the better car. Max and lately Tsunoda have me questioning that theory. Most seasons over time have team cars finishing close to each other baring a wreck or mechanical problem. Some seasons you pretty much knew the MB would finish 1st &2nd, then some other team 3rd & 4th and so on. Back in Michael Schumacher days it was common for the Ferraris to finish 1st & 2nd.

Whatever else can be said about Tsunoda he ought to be in the top five in a RB. That he and other drivers cannot keep up with Max in the same car is telling. To address the big question which is who can step in and run like Max? I do not think anyone has that answer.

But the powers that be have been working on a plan to get Max out of the picture. Most any little real or perceived infraction will get him a race ban. makes me think of a Kurt Vonnegut story in which society tries to make everyone "equal". If the average person has 20/10 vision then a person with 20/20 must wear glasses which distort the vision. The appliances worn were called handicaps.

May as well leave Tsunoda in place. Maybe he will figure it out.

Hello; Somewhat interesting race. Was a strategy race until the Mclarens crashed into each other. Russell did very good to finish 1st.
Now will come the investigations and possible penalities. I would call the safety car thing with Max and Russell on Russell as he clearly "brake checked". But since so many are out to get Max, even the stewards, I imagine some will say " but he passed under a safety car". We will see.
I do not know about Norris and Piastri's wreck. Norris made a bad move and got the worst of it on the track.
likely other stuff will be called.

Saw as to how Lewis ran over a groundhog. I have done the same a couple of times.

Why penalised Norris avoids a grid drop for Piastri clash
Hello; just read the above. My take is this "five second penality" is pretty much bogus in the sense of it only has the "apperance" of a punishment and in reality has no other meaning. Five seconds, ten seconds or many minutes would not change any results.

Here is a way to look at it which may shed some light. Have the same thing happen except replace Norris with Max. We all can figure what the penalty difference would have been in such an imagined scenario.

Not clear this morning, but it seems the stewards at least did not punish Max for the "brake check" attempt. From what I have seen they let the attempt slide on Russell as well as his falling too far behind the safety car.
For some reason I thought there was a difference between an unintended racing incident and an intentional rule breaking act. Max was punished for intentionally bumping in the previous race. Tsunoda got a ten-place grid penalty for intentionally passing a slow crippled car which was shedding parts under the red flag.

I am sure the incidents can be spun & explained away to suit. A thing is it seems we still have selective enforcement of the rules.

I agree there still seems to be some rule ‘interpretation’ but the Norris/Pisatri clash took Norris out. Norris at fault 💯, no effect on Piastri (except maybe Piastri would have been able to get Kimi at the end, although if Norris has not crashed into Piastri he would have probably been able to overtake him and he could have got Kimi) so Norris punished himself in this collision. Tsunoda’s penalty was just ridiculous. We all thought Piastri should have parked the car like stroll was advised to do. He was lucky not to get a penalty himself. Max’s collision with Russell was deliberate and could have ended someone else’s race, it didn’t and didn’t really affect anything at all, 10seconds was too harsh 5 seconds would have been fairer. Or the stewards should have been in touch with RB quicker to say no position swap was necessary. All other sports seem to have faster electronic adjudication. I don’t know why it takes 5 laps to decide some of these things.
