Stupid to penalize drivers for stuff off track. It’s not part of racing. Imagine if they imposed these sorts of rules 20 years (or more) ago.

I'm sad it's come to this, I think they should now really shake things up and swap Yuki and Perez for the rest of the season...

Marko aside. Ricardo had a deal with Horner, shook on it. Then back doored Redbull. Wether it was Ricardo or his agent telling him to do that, it doesn’t matter. End result is the same. With all that Horner found a spot for him and gave him another shot. It didn’t work out. Tell me again how this is poor Ricardo and RB did him dirty. In that situation and it was a marriage it’d be like you goong out to dinner, your wife saying she loves you, and goes across the street for a good time with your neighbor. Disclaimer: no judgement to those that are in to that sort of thing if its agreed upon. There’s not many in any walk of life, business or personal, that would ever give some one in that scenario a second chance. But RB and Horner did. Ricardo’s persona aside his true colors were on display, it is what is. And it was right there in the open for everyone to see. And still there’s a door open for him in another capacity. I judge people by their actions not by what they want yme to see.

I’m very surprised Perez is still there, because based on performance he clearly shouldn’t be.

I hated the way he was treated by McLaren and even more so by RB. Yes, I know F1 is a business but Daniel is one of the nicest people in it and truly deserved better. I'd love to see him in IndyCar.

Ya, I don't expect the action to move the needle.

If you read Haas's F1 mission statement, the wording is very business-oriented (how to run a profitable business). If you select other F1 teams and read theirs, the wording is much more sport-oriented.

Some topics for this weekend.

Changes to the COTA track (new paving in some areas, narrowing of some turns and the use of fake gravel).

The fake gravel I wasn't familiar with. Unlike the conventional gravel, which can fall into the racing line, fake gravel is aggregate which has been epoxied to the off-track surface.

Finally, RB have removed an adjustment mechanism from their car; it allowed for a portion of the under-tray to be adjusted, much like you might dial something up or down. While this RB mechanism was covered and inaccessible in parc ferme, teams expressed concern something could be changed with a quick slight of hand.

Thoughts on the race? :lipssealed:
Hello; since you've asked. Hard to pin down trends. Seems lately from race to race a different car is dominant. RB takes the sprint ( I did not get the broadcast but think I have heard such). Ferrari takes the main race with seconds to spare. The orange cars struggle to stay in the top five. So, in one sense there is drama in that no team is expected to take 1st anymore the way it has been for years. I do not know who will run best in Mexico, which is better i suppose. That said the Ferraris ran so well we wound up seeing the 3rd & 4th place cars race much of the time.
I suppose there has been the now usual Monday Moring QB debates over track events. I have so far avoided them.
I was some pleased that we did not have to hear too much from or about LH. Still more that was needed. He took himself out early so had no one to blame this time. I sometimes wonder if team Ferrari is having second thoughts.
