Will be interesting to see how he does compared to the Hulk. When he stepped in for Carlos the Ferrari was almost top of the pile. The Haas is not.

The question is, if he does really well will Haas give him the seat for the rest of the season? Of course we need to define "really well".

You can guarantee the teams would want completely separate cars for events like that. They wouldn’t want there cars damaged or destroyed for the regular races.

Another week another interesting F1 story..
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/...-idea-our-f1-writers-have-their-say/10652733/

Thoughts?
I think it would be a better way to go than just a 'test' but how it would be funded would be interesting. I think they'd have to get some good sponsorship for this idea to compensate the teams who have maxed out their budget for the main F1 season.

I think the plan was for this 'race' after the season has finished as to not risk a car in the regular season.

Hello; Will not be a tragedy but for the first time in years I will not be able to watch the race nor the pre-race events this weekend. Disney and Direct TV are disputing fees, so I have lost several channels including ESPN.

Hello; guess they settled their differences. I now have ESPN so will see the race tomorrow. I missed qualifying and the practice sessions.

Good race indeed. No idea what Carlos was thinking there. 90-100% his fault there. I’m no fan of Perez but he was robbed there.
Two excellent racers, two laps to go, and a millisecond to react and respond. I feel bad for both of them. I see it as a pure racing incident.

Which likely would not have happened if Leclerc hadn't been trying to back Perez into Sainz which led Perez to try a risky pass out of desperation. Ferrari would have been better off with a 3rd and 4th than a second. Even if Perez got the second. Ferrari is more at risk of dropping a constructor's spot than gaining one. But hindsight....
