I'm not sure it was a deliberate ploy from Leclerc to back Perez into Sainz. he had zero rear tires left and Sainz was lapping faster than anyone else in the top 4 I think. but you're right, it would have been better to collect some points rather than battle too hard and get nothing.

In looking at the overhead footage online it clearly shows that the accident could have been avoided if Checo had just given Carlos a touch more room. But as they were both going dead straight it was correctly deemed a racing incident.

Also a shoutout to Ollie and Franco. The future of F1 is bright.

Seriously, wtf. If Sainz hung a left in to Checo you’d still blame Checo. When it comes to Redbull your bias is ridiculious at this point. And LeClerc(or peppy le pew) backed them up. Call this stuff what it is. Both Sainz and Checo should have seen the bigger picture there and driven accordingly. For any of us to think Ferarri and Redbull both weren’t seriously pissed with that dipshittery would be naive at best. More so for Checo because he still has a seat, and less so for Sainz who honestly probably doesn’t give a …. because he got booted(he’s better then le pew in my opinion) and is headed to another team.

As always you’re entitled to your opinion but facts are facts. The overhead clearly shows both drivers going straight. It was their position on the track that caused the accident. Saint had no room on his right, Checo had half the track to his left. This cannot be denied. But I did not blame Checo and neither did the stewards. I concur with their call as I believe it was a pure racing incident.

Now as far as bias, pot calling kettle black. I like Checo, always have. I’ll admit to not being a Red Bull fan nor a Max fan but that is what it is. There are hero’s and villains in every sport. But back to Checo. He has shown signs of brilliance with Red Bull, other times not so much. But i squarely place the blame for that on Red Bull. They were/are a one driver team. Always have been. Well guess what? They are now admitting that. With Max not winning every race building a car totally around him is now biting them in the ass. So maybe there will be hope for Checo in the future.

No pot calling kettle on my end. I don’t care who’s at fault. I’ll call it like it is. Doesn’t matter if its RB, Merc, whoever. As for your bs about building the car around him. You should check your information on what the issue is suppose to be and why it didn’t affect Verstappen as much. Wether you like it or not he’s on another level as a driver. There’s no disputing that. It doesn’t matter what the craft is. Can be driving, csbinet maker, engineer, whatever. If one is at a higher level then those around them that are still very good, they’ll make them look subpar. It is what it is. It took Weber to a few years to come out and admit he was wrong with Vettel. He admitted and came to terms with and stated he was simply faster then he was, it was what it was then. He basically apologized for what went on in the past. Gets major kudos for that. As for biting them in the ass, what a crock of shxt. Nobody is perfect. The margins at that level aren’t even discernable with the naked eye. I get it though, haters are haters and that’ll never change. I like racing, period. I could do without the dbaggery in F1. I’ll leave alone who’s at the top of the list for that and runs which outfit.

I'm reading some articles this morning having to do with McLaren's rear wing, how it flexes.

The referenced video will detail what's happening. In general, it seems McLaren has taken the flex-wing concept used at the front and applied it to the rear. The FIA has affirmed the wing passes all current tests.

Ps. I do not agree with this and do not feel Max should have to do anything!

Just read that they are going to make some changes to the wing after discussions with the FIA. Guess Horner’s crying worked. :giggle:

Max and others swear on track. And it is not reasonable to expect any athlete to stay cool in competition. This isn't about that, but they have complained about that as well at other times. Not many sports broadcast what athletes say in the heat of battle. The old saying about stop doing something if it hurts when you do it comes to mind. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

But this wasn't about swearing under pressure but in a routine scheduled publicly covered meeting. MOST people are capable of not swearing for less than an hour while being recoded when that is a documented requirement of the job that they have been called out on before. His "English is a second language" excuse is so lame it shows he knows it's a fair cop.

It may be a stupid rule, but it was one he certainly knew. Move on Max and anyone else.

That said, I have requested the FIA have Max cut my grass as community service.

Just read that they are going to make some changes to the wing after discussions with the FIA.
I saw that this morning. Ferrari's argument was, while the front wing flexing is something of a grey area in the regs everyone is exploiting, the rear wing rules are more specific. I might go out and study the regs today:question: Or I might just have a bourbon while watching Qualy. :giggle:

Edit,

The only logical explanation to me is that this mini DRS thing had marginal effect, but there might be some other trickery going on with bigger effect. McLaren didn't want big attention to that area or risk that some new measurements would be introduced getting the other thing impossible as well. So they wanted to cut short the discussion/investigation. -- Post at F1 Technical

Nobody will go out their way to ‘offer’ to change a part on a car that they are certain complies to all regulation. Only way you would ‘offer to change’ it is you know it’s a grey area and you’ve been found out, or the FIA had had a chat with you and said we going to ban this with a technical directive/ or goes against one already in place. -- Post at F1 Technical
